Inside Out is a 3D animated film from 2015. It was produced by Pixar, a well-known and respected film studio. The film was directed by Pete Docter. He wrote all the lines for characters and the script together with Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley.

The Story
Everyone would like to know what is going on in the minds of others, what they think, what they feel, and what they suppress. It’s completely normal. The movie Inside Out tries to fulfill this desire. It shows us small, colorful little people who control human emotions and actions. Although such a motif has already been used, among other things in the popular Once Upon a Time… Life series, but here all the characters are inside in the head.
The film can both touch you and entertain you. The dialogues are funny and sometimes they will be understood only by the adult audience.
A Storm of Emotions
The world inhabited by the little creatures presented in the film is the mind of an eleven-year-old girl, Riley Andersen. This is, of course, a place where her unstable emotions and raging hormones meet. Her young personality is slowly formed. In her mind, fresh memories as well as the old ones fight for attention and blend in like a colorful mosaic.
The whole concept behind the movie may seem simple. Riley, like her parents and every human being in the world, has five basic emotions. They are Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. They govern everything that happens insider her mind and are presented as little humanoid creatures. Joy is an optimist who has orange-yellow skin, blue hair, and wears a neon-green dress. Sadness, a fat blue-faced girl looks very apathetic. She wears glasses and she sees the bad aspects of everything. Fear is a thin purple always frightened individual with big eyes. Rage is short, red, and has a short fuse. Disgust is green and is responsible for not letting Riley eat unhealthy food.
Joy wants to dominate and provide the main character with the happiest life possible. She does it by keeping Sadness as far away as she can from the special console where the five press the button to control Riley’s behaviors.
The console also saves memories in characteristic glass spheres. If most of them are yellow ones that’s a good sign – it means happiness. The situation, however, changes dynamically when Riley’s life starts to go downhill.
The film is set in two worlds. The first one we know very well. Riley goes to school, does sports, and spends time with her family. The second is her inner life, a fast-paced action-adventure – where the stakes are high – to save Riley’s happy childhood.
