Why this name? What does Bloons TD mean? Bloons are, of course, balloons – both words are pronounced the same, while TD is an abbreviation of tower defense. Tower Defense was present in the first two games. Later, for legal reasons (registered trademark) the game developers decided to remove it.
In 2007, players could get their hands on Bloons Tower Defense and Bloons Tower Defense 2. Bloons TD 3 appeared in 2008, and Bloons TD 4 in 2009. To have a chance to play Bloons TD 5 the players had to wait until 2011. Then Bloons TD Battle was released in 2010. The next games in the series were Bloons Monkey City (2012) and Bloons TD 6, planned for 2018.
