Let me start by saying that this Deadpool & Wolverine review is spoiler-free, nothing that I say here has not been revealed in the various trailers. Deadpool & Wolverine is the most entertaining movie that I have seen in the theatre this year. From the start all the way until the end credits scene, I was thoroughly entertained.

The Movie Review
You have no idea how high my expectations for this movie were! I cannot think of the last time my expectations were this high and not just met, but exceeded! As much as I love the X-Men movies and the Deadpool movies, this was one of those occasions where I was excited, but at the same time, I was thinking that there was no way that this movie could possibly live up to my “unrealistic” expectations.
I am not going into any story details at all here, if you want spoilers and want to know everything that happens, it is out there, but I am not going to spoil it. I managed to make it to my Saturday afternoon showing, only getting one thing spoiled and in the grand scheme of things, it was a small spoiler.
Crazy Cameos and Surprises
The thing is, this movie is freaking crazy I had heard so many rumors about characters and actors that were going to be in it, I had no idea what was real and what was not. Yet, when some of the cameos happened, I was truly shocked, mind blown and fist pumping in my seat as I was so excited.
At the end of the day, what I will tell you about the story is that Deadpool & Wolverine need to team up in order to save the Earth that Deadpool is from. What is interesting is that out of all the MCU shows and movies, this ties into Loki more than anything else. It is a buddy movie with Deadpool & Wolverine who argue far more than they get on, but in what I am sure is a surprise to no one, the chemistry that these two have is just off the charts.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. They make a joke in the movie that they are going to make him be Wolverine until he is 90, but to me, that is no joke. I am sure other people could do a good job. We have had multiple Batman’s Spider-Men, Superman, and more over the years, but there is just something about Hugh Jackman as Wolverine that feels special. When they do inevitably cast someone else, these are some huge shoes to fill.
The action in Deadpool & Wolverine is bloody, violent, and hilarious all at the same time. The opening scene is up there with my favorite opening scenes of all time. I am not just talking about comic book movies, but movies in general. It is hilarious and just so typical of Deadpool, it sets the tone for what the next couple of hours are going to be all about.
Final Thoughts on Deadpool & Wolverine
I do not see there being any way that you are disappointed with this if you liked the first two Deadpool movies! I have been trying to think of something that I disliked about the movie, but there is legit not a single aspect of the movie I did not like. I guess you could argue that if you have not seen Loki, you may be a bit lost in regards to the TVA stuff, but the movie does explain it all pretty efficiently.
Deadpool & Wolverine is a 10/10 movie for me. It is up there with the best comic book movies ever made and it’s a movie I am sure I will see multiple times during its theatrical run. It even teases some stuff to come which has me super excited too. I will advise that you see this sooner than later as you do not want some of the more mind-blowing stuff spoiled for you. Not only will I see this again, but this is a day one 4K purchase for me too.
