Today we are talking about a real Disney classic, Lady and the Tramp. It is crazy that this was released all the way back in 1955! I saw this in theatres when it was re-released in 1986 and it was one of the first movies I saw in the theatre. I also remember my family getting this during the holidays in 1990 and watching it on Christmas Eve so as you can see, it has been a big part of my life for a long time.

The Movie Review
The plot of Lady and the Tramp is a real classic. Our human character, Jim Dear, and his wife Darling (I love how Lady thinks that they are their names) raise a pup called Lady into a lovely grown-up dog and they are the perfect family. Well, they start to change and the reason they are changing is that they have a baby on the way.
Lady’s neighbors and friends, Jock and Trusty warn her that babies change everything! I have to say that as I grew up in Scotland, I had such a love for Jock as a kid, and even as an adult he is one of my favorite Disney side characters. The few scenes we get with Lady, Jock, and Trusty are something that I just adore.
I am sure you know the deal of what goes down by now. There is the whole “we are Siamese if you please” thing with the cats that ends up getting Lady in trouble and she ends up running away. She meets, The Tramp who is a loveable, but rough dog from the streets and he is going to help Lady get rid of the muzzle she has on.
Now, the scene where Tramp and Lady go to the zoo and get help from the beaver to remove the muzzle is one of my all-time favorite Disney scenes. It always makes me smile and actually, the fact that they cut this scene from the Disney Plus live-action Lady and the Tramp movie is something I am still pretty mad about!
Lady and the Tramp grow closer and closer and their being from such different backgrounds is what makes their love story so much fun. I think that Lady and the Tramp is one of those classic movies that can just appeal to everyone who watches it and that is why it is so timeless.
While at first glance what we have here is a love story and a story about a romance. Lady and the Tramp also has some pretty awesome exciting scenes, some great humor, and some iconic Disney songs too. There is a good reason why this has been so successful each time it was released in theatres and also when it was made available for the home.
I find it hard to imagine that there is someone out there who has an interest in Disney but has not seen Lady and the Tramp! However, I watched this again recently for the first time since it was originally released on Blu-Ray back in 2012 and enjoyed it all over again. Disney loves to throw around the word “classic” but there really is no better way to describe this movie!
