Even though most people did not love it, I liked the first Paul Blart movie. Being a fan of Kevin James and the whole Happy Madison crew, that first movie was pretty much what I expected it to be. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 though is a prime example of a sequel that did not need to happen. The first one did well at the box office so it was like they forced this one out to make a quick buck!

The Movie Review
Paul Blart: Mall Cop had that Kevin James charm which I like, but this sequel I hate to say it, but it is pure garbage. Not even the lovable doofus Kevin James shtick can save this movie! To be honest, when this was released, I was kind of into it, I enjoyed the first, and then adding Neil McDonough as the villain I thought sounded interesting as he is usually great as a bad guy.
For a comedy, the start of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 could not be any more depressing. The woman that he fights for and saves in the first movie for some reason leaves him just days into their marriage! His mom is dead after being hit by a milk truck and his daughter is growing up and wants to move to the other side of the country to go to college. How is any of this funny?
Paul’s Journey in the Sequel
Paul is happy with his job as a mall security guard and he is excited when he gets invited to a security convention that is happening out in Las Vegas. Paul takes his daughter with him to the convention. Due to his heroics in the first movie, Paul is no longer seen as a joke, but he is originally not the keynote speaker as he hoped.
Turns out the hotel this security convention is taking place in has a bunch of priceless art. A bunch of crooks plan to steal the art and replace it with counterfeits, why they decided to wait until a security convention was happening is beyond me and just one of many dumb things that make no sense in this movie.
The Final Verdict on Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
As you would expect, Paul has to save the day. Once again, his daughter ends up in trouble. Now he does also have a team that he works with as he tries to take down these crooks. This movie lacks all the charm of the first movie. I say that as someone who liked the first movie, many people hated that and if they hated the first Paul Blart movie, I could only imagine what hell it would be for them to sit through this.
The crime caper plot is just dumb, the humor feels forced and Kevin James lacks the charm that he usually has. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is a straight-up bad movie, it is so bad that I am 99 percent sure I will never watch this again for the rest of my life. There are some sequels that make you wonder why they exist and this is one of those sequels.
