The Film Review

The Plot

The Lost Village follows the story of the Smurfs who reside in Smurf Village under the leadership of Papa Smurf.

Amongst the rest of the characters, Smurfette is a special Smurf as she was created by the evil wizard Gargamel before being redeemed by Papa Smurf and joining the village.

Smurfette finds out that there is a lost Smurf village within the depths of the Forbidden Forest and so she, along with Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, and Hefty Smurf head out on a journey to discover it.

The four find encounter many intriguing creatures on their travels before being attacked by Gargamel who plans on capturing all the Smurfs in order to take their essence from them and become the strongest.

The four Smurfs manage to get away before finally encountering the female Smurfs in the lost village that is known as Smurfy Grove. Smurfette informs all the female Smurfs about Gargamel as they prepare to attack him during night time.

Miraculously, Papa Smurf shows up instead of Gargamel as it turns out that he had been looking for Smurfette along with the rest to apologize for punishing them earlier. Soon however Gargamel strikes and manages to capture everyone in Smurfy Grove except Smurfette. After feeling sad and lonely for the others, Smurfette heads out to confront Gargamel where she tricks him by pretending that she wants to become evil again.

Gargamel uses his magic on Smurfette only to find out that she had absorbed it the whole it. She then attacks Gargamel and saves all her friends before turning into clay.

The film ends as Gargamel and his accomplices fall down the waterfall whereas as Smurfette is revived thanks to the energy provided by everyone else.
