I am going to start by letting you know right away that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a 10/10 movie for me. I was glued to the screen from the start and I would have to say that this is one of the best superhero movies that I have ever seen. When you consider that this is the middle part of a trilogy, they truly did something epic with this movie.

The Movie Review
This is going to be a spoiler-free review, but I do want to say that while it may seem like the trailer gives away a lot…. And it does. There are many great surprises and shocks in this movie so try not to spoil it for yourself before you have the chance to actually watch the movie.
The basics of the plot are that we have a new villain called The Spot that starts off as a somewhat goofy joke but becomes something far greater. I think that they handled this character so well and I thought it was going to be just a standard villain for Miles to beat up and then move on from.
However, there is also a secret society of Spider-Men/Spider-Man’s/Spider-People or whatever you want to refer to them as. Miles eventually gets brought into this world and we meet the “leader” Spider-Man 2099 or Miguel O’Hara. What is cool about this is that Oscar Isaac has played a Marvel character in the MCU as Moon Knight, the X-Men Fox series as Apocalypse, and now a Sony character as Spider-Man 2099.
Again, no spoilers, but Miles sees things one way, Miguel another and it causes a huge clash. Now, the action in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is amazing, but it is the story and the character development that is the real heart of what is going on here and what ultimately makes this such an engaging movie.
We get a lot of personal stuff with Miles as he tries to juggle his personal and superhero life together and have some kind of balance between the two. Miles is such a likable character, but at the end of the day, he is a teenager with all the pressures that come from that. I do wonder how they could ever have a live-action Miles Morales that could be as good as what we have here!
Then we have Gwen Stacy who also gets a great deal of character development. You can tell from the trailers that Gwen is going to be an important part of the movie, but I was surprised and happy with just how much character development she got. There is also a vast amount of other Spider characters in the movie.
The real show-stealer here as far as the new characters go for me was Hobie/Spider-Punk who was just so much fun, every time he was on the screen. The cameos in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are insane, but the movie does not rely on them. It is so awesome when a particular Spider-Man that you know appears!
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the best if not THE best-looking animated movies I have ever seen. Since that last movie, a few have emulated the style of it, but this just takes what they did originally to a whole new level. This is 100 percent a movie that you have to see on the big screen.
With how much I loved the last movie, I was not 100 percent that this could live up to it, for me, it actually surpassed it! This is a movie that was so good, I would have gone and seen it again the very next day. I can honestly see myself seeing this at least a couple of more times while it has its theatrical run.
