The Mandalorian

I remember when The Mandalorian was announced, I thought that it sounded so cool. Fast forward a few years later and it is one of my favorite things from the history of Star Wars! Not only that, I would say that it is flat out the best thing Disney has done with the Star Wars license since they acquired it.

The Movie Review

Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, The Mandalorian is up there with my favorite Star Wars characters. He lives his life by the code set by The Mandalorians and is one of the last few remaining. He takes various jobs, working as a bounty hunter when he is tasked with retrieving an asset.

You all know who this asset turns out to be! He finds, The Child, Grogu, or even Baby Yoda if you prefer became a pop culture phenomenon! Mando has a real connection with Grogu right from the start he decides to abandon his mission and code in order to save him and protect him. In the first season, we are introduced to some awesome characters.

The Mandalorian is not on his own as he has others that are with him in trying to protect Grogu. Kuiil, Cara Dune, Greef Karga, and IG-11 lend a helping hand along the way. A shadow force led by Moff Gideon who used to be a high-ranking officer in The Empire. Moff Gideon is an awesome character, played by the very talented Giancarlo Esposito.

The first season is so much fun, it is only eight episodes long and they all just flow together so well. The Mandalorian is just such a likable character and as his bond with Grogu goes, you get even more invested in the show. As this is a Star Wars show, there is a ton of action here too and the fan service is through the roof!

As much as I liked the first season of The Mandalorian, season 2 was even better. The Mandalorian is still trying to protect Grogu, but this time things are even more spectacular. We get some great new characters in season 2 such as Cobb Vanth and Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and freaking Luke Skywalker to name a few!

Season 2 really is something amazing. Something that season 2 does very well is “humanize” The Mandalorian, we see him lose his spot in The Creed or whatever you want to call it, but he has a new family. It is just fantastic stuff and something I really cannot speak highly enough of. Also, the special effects here are amazing, easily as good as any big-budget movie.

Grogu is even more adorable in season 2 as well. We get to see Grogu get up to all kinds of hijinks and while it is hilarious and cute, it always has some kind of bearing on the plot of the episode or the series in general. I think you could make an argument that as of right now, Grogu is the biggest thing in Star Wars!

To say I love The Mandalorian is a massive understatement. I have bought countless action figures and collectibles and watched both seasons multiple times, that is how much I love this show. I would even say that The Mandalorian is worth paying for Disney Plus, even if you were to watch nothing else on it! Star Wars fans love this, but even those who are casual fans at best will enjoy this as it is such a great show.
