Additionally, the song also broke into the top 10 barrier in numerous countries including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland.

Believer is a motivational song that talks about keeping one’s spirit high and never giving up no matter how intense the situation becomes. It is available to play through digital download.

The Lyrics

Believer features a rock background tune with vocals focused on the adrenaline that builds up inside of a person. The lyrics begin with the band listing the things and elements that pop up within a person’s mind.

They advise the person to not believe what people think about them as they are the captains of their own ships. They know themselves better than anyone hence, there is no reason why they should not believe in themselves.

The pre-chorus then plays in where the band explains the situation that person goes through in terms of the struggles faced. The lyrics describe being broken on the inside due people who constantly tried to keep them down by force.

Finally, in the main chorus, the band sings as to the only thing that made the person stronger was the pain he endured during all that time. Pain is what brought that person down and got him up, eventually forcing them to become a believer.

In the latter part of the song, the lyrics continue listing down things such as channeling the hate to become a driving spirit force.

The last thing that is listed is the adrenaline that pumps down blood through that person’s veins, which in turn, gives them the necessary adrenaline break all the limits and overcome the barriers.

The Video

The music video is in sync to the theme of the song as it features a bloody boxing match between two men played by Dan Reynolds and Dolph Lundgren.

It displays how the two boxers fight to their heart’s content but seem as if they are being forced to do so. The two boxers keep on enduring by taking in all the pain and still managing to fight back despite their physical conditions.

In between the match, the bandmembers flash their appearances whereas on the other end, a young boy, assumed to be Dan in his youth, seems to be drawing a sketch of a specific symbol. In between the sequence, the music stops as Dan says how he wants to stop.

Dolph replies that they cannot, indicating that some external power is deciding their fate. The video ends with Dan’s younger child version finishing his sketch, revealing it to be the symbol of the band’s album.

The Bottom Line

Overall, Believer is an inspiring song that inevitably became a commercial success. It turned out to be became the fifth most cherished song of 2017 in the USA.
