Call of Duty: WWII is the fifteenth (as far as the main series is concerned) edition of a franchise of shooters set in the reality of war. After many years, Call Of Duty returns to the roots and again transports the player to the battlefields of World War II. In this downloadable game, in addition to the extensive campaign, the creators have also prepared a multiplayer mode. The company behind the game, as it was the case in the previous installments of the series, is Activision. This publisher is also known for such games as Destiny, Guitar Hero, Quake, Wolfenstein or the Spider-Man games series. The development studio that made the title is Sledgehammer Games. It was their third production of the series after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. CoD: WWII title was released on November 3, 2017, and is available on PCs running Windows as well as PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The Game Plot
The plot of Call of Duty: WWII takes you back to the times of World War II. During the single-story campaign, you have an opportunity to become a soldier of the famous American 1 Infantry Division (Big Red One). In addition to fighting and shooting the Germans, the game shows the human side of the heroes of the conflict. The creators of the game made sure to show in detail the relations between individual members of the arms division. In addition to carrying out independent missions, your task will also be to support the French intelligence and the British troops. When playing Call of Duty: WWII, you can feel the atmosphere of mass conflict and that your character is only a small part of a great war machine. During the game, you will take part in a series of historical battles, including such events as the Invasion of Normandy, the Battle of the Ardennes, the liberation of Paris or the Battle of Berlin.
Call of Duty: WWII: the Game Mechanics
The action in the game is shown from the first person’s perspective. Call of Duty WWII contains also a lot of violent scenes. Blood is seen often and so brutality of armed conflicts is put to the front. Call of Duty: WWII returns not only to World War II but also to the classic mechanics known from the old FPS games. It means that you have first aid kits that renew your health and medics can be summoned if you have been wounded. The game also includes a large arsenal of weapons from the era. You will be able to use many different weapons from handguns to machine guns and rocket launchers.
The Graphics and the Technical Issues
The visual design of the game is of the highest quality while the special effects are just like those you can expect from action movies. This has always been what the fans of the series got used to. For example, one could get totally spellbound watching the detailed character models and realistic looking weaponry. The physics of the game also deserves attention. All the buildings in the game can be completely destroyed, no matter which part of them you shoot at. The icing on the cake is the realistic sound that really allows you to feel as if you were on a battlefield.
The first game in the series, entitled Call of Duty, was released in 2003 and belongs to the part of the saga that tells about the struggles during the World War II. This group includes Call of Duty 2 (2005), Call of Duty 3 (2006) and Call of Duty: WWII released in 2017.
The fourth game started another story arc – the conflict in the present. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released in 2007 (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016). Then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) was released followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011).
Call of Duty: World at War (2008) was the prequel of the new Black Ops series set during the Cold War. Call of Duty: Black Ops was released in 2010. The successors were Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012) and Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2015).
Another mini-series comprise the games set in the future. The first game was Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013) with its events happening in the future after the destruction of the Middle East. It was followed by Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014) set in 2054, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016) set in an even more distant future when the Earth natural resources were practically completely depleted.
