Thanks to PlayStation Plus, I, like many other folks, have been spending a ton of time with Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. It is like a mixture of TV shows such as Takeshi’s Castle and games like Mario Party. It is the kind of game that when you describe it to someone sounds kind of dumb, but once you play it, you really cannot stop!
This is a party game and a game that is to be played with other people. As a matter of fact, this game is all about online play so that is something to keep in mind. You pick your weird little “Fall Guy” and the goal is to be the last player standing.
There are a ton of mini-games in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. There is an excellent variety to them and it appears to be random as to what games you can expect to play. You have different “categories” of games that you will be playing. These categories are survival, race, hunting, and logic.

The Game Review
Each “game” has you needing to do a certain thing. Races for example will be a race to an endpoint, survival is all about surviving and not failing. There are usually many obstacles, rotating platforms, and so on in each mini-game that you have to keep your eye on as well as the other players. There are also team mini-games that you will have to play as well.
The battles start with around 60 players and after each round more and more get knocked out. There are some games I am better at than others, but there is a great deal of luck and circumstance involved in making it through those early rounds when games are packed with other players.
As things get whittled down to a few remaining players, that is when more skill comes into play. One of the most interesting things about Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is that it is a very hard game to describe in a good way. It is one of those games that you really just have to play for yourself to see how fun and crazy it is.
There are microtransactions in the game, but these are purely cosmetic. You can deck out your little Fall Guy in many different outfits, including a cool Gordon Freeman one. You earn the currency pretty fairly as you play so that is cool. I am very interested to see what other licenses jump on board with this game as it has become so popular.
Overall, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is an excellent party game to play with people online. I am sure this will feature on many top 10 lists at the end of the year. As of now, the game is free on PlayStation Plus, and you need PlayStation Plus to actually play it. I feel it is a no-brainer to give this a try.
