I Wanna Be The Boshy Review
I Wanna Be The Boshy is a single player game so the only mode available to play is the campaign. In the main menu there are four basic difficulty levels to play from, namely, Ez-mode, Totally Average-mode, Hardon-mode, and You’re Gonna Get Raped-mode.
Although the overall game itself is extremely challenging, the Ez-mode is comparatively easier compared to the most difficult Get Raped-mode. Within each of these difficulty levels, there are a specific number of levels that players have to traverse through. The next level in a particular difficulty mode can only be unlocked if the previous level has been completed.
Before the game can actually begin, the players go through a tutorial mode where they get to learn the basic controls. The controls are simple and mainly consist of walking forward and backward, jumping, double-jumping, and shooting. The controls are basic but have to be perfectly timed in order to cross the traps and obstacles that are found throughout the game.
Moving on to the characters, I Wanna Be the Boshy offers a very wide range of characters to choose from. Although the basic action remains the same for all of them, there are minor differences between them when it comes to shooting down enemies.
The playable characters consist of Boshy, Dig Dug, The Kid, Blob, Pedobear, Nyan Cat, Bubblegun, Link, Logi Bear, Quadrick, Meat Boy, Excite Bike, Mega Man, Yoshi, Ness, and Ope.
The players start off with Boshy who is considered to be the main protagonist of the game. The other characters are mostly internet meme sensations and famous characters from other games, and characters from popular cartoon or anime series.
Most characters have small sprites and projectiles whereas the remaining few have abilities that are unique. Apart from these characters, there are also other playable ones which can be unlocked later on as the game progresses including Kirby, Mr. Games & Watch, Quote, Ryu, Solgryn, Marlo, Luigi, Spike, Sonic, Ash Ketchum, Dark Boshy, Sagat, Orc, Kappa, Pit, and Arthur.
Throughout the game, players are constantly targeted by different obstacles and enemies that they either have to shoot down or simply avoid by running past them. Within the game, there are two types of enemies that the players encounter during their adventure.
The normal enemies can be simply shot down or avoided, however, the boss enemies are far tougher in comparison. In order to defeat the boss enemies, players have to be extremely precise with their movements else they simply get caught and have to start over again from the previous checkpoint.
Overall, I Wanna Be The Boshy is a very intense game that requires a high level of accuracy to complete. The game is very challenging with obstacles and enemies suddenly appearing out of nowhere. This element of the game makes it very addictive to play.
