Just Dance is a franchise that has been around for over a decade at this point. One of the craziest things about Just Dance 2020 is that this game has a Nintendo Wii version! I have played the game on the Switch, but PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia also have ports of this game.

The Game Review
I think it is fair to say by this point if you are down with the Just Dance series you know exactly what you are getting. Just Dance 2020 is not trying to reinvent the wheel or anything like that. As a matter of fact, apart from the new songs, I am not actually sure what they have spent the last year doing with the development of this game as there is very little if anything substantially new.
To be fair, Just Dance fans will be more than happy with more of the same. It is the new songs and of course, new dance routines that people are buying these for each year and that is cool. This one has over 40 songs and dances, in addition to this, there is their paid-for service where you can get access to a ton more songs if the 40 are not enough.
The presentation is pretty much identical to what we got last year. So, if you have played any Just Dance game, especially from the last 3 or so years, you will feel right at home with what this is offering. The main “new” mode is the All-Star mode which is celebrating the history of the franchise by having you get down to some of the most iconic songs from the franchise’s history.
Even after all these years, the gameplay is still fun. The gameplay of Just Dance 2020 is simple, fun, addictive, and one heck of a workout too. You need to follow the on-screen dance moves and you are rated on your performance at the end. On the Nintendo Switch, you use the Joy-Cons and they pick up your motion very well.
On the PlayStation 4, you can use the Move Controllers if you wish. What about if you are on Xbox One or Stadia? Well, you can use your phone and a free-to-download app that will pick up your dance moves. Oh, there is also that Nintendo Wii port as well which uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.
I would say that by this point if a previous Just Dance game has not done it for you, Just Dance 2020 is unlikely to win you over. That is fine though, as this is a game that is made for people who are already fans. I feel that Ubisoft has enough here to make this a worthwhile purchase for already-established Just Dance players. Plus, if you have been into this for a while, you will get a kick out of the All-Star mode.
