LEGO CITY Undercover is a downloadable adventure action which is set in an open world built of the famous Danish bricks. The game was developed by TT Fusion and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The Story
In the game, you play as a police officer – Chase McCain, who is the agent under cover. Your goal is to capture McCain’s main enemy, Rex Fury. The gameplay core is the exploration of a huge city while performing many different tasks. To finish the game you have to infiltrate the local mafia. As with any LEGO titles, also in the LEGO City Undercover, there are plenty of references to mass culture. A careful observer will notice many of them. The game is as humorous as the previous productions, and playing the game the fans of LEGO series will feel right at home.
LEGO City Undercover Mechanics
As far as the game mechanics are concerned the game resembles very much Grand Theft Auto series. Thus we have a big city, with a lot of crime going on. In addition to the arcade sections of the game, you will also encounter stealth, or platform sections.
You can move in this huge world using different means of transportation. At your disposal are cars, planes, boats, or even wheelchairs for the disabled. In addition to the main storyline, which consists of dozens of missions, you will be also given side quests, many of them quite ingenious. You will be also taking part in the chases just like in action movies. The in-game fights are mainly hand-to-hand combat and the controls are quite intuitive. The game also features a simple parkour system that allows you to move around the city in a spectacular way. LEGO City Undercover is filled with hidden locations to be found on the map. By visiting them you acquire secret objects or LEGO bricks that are necessary to build some buildings. For convenience, a simple scanner has been added to show the player with what she or he can interact.
The three-dimensional graphics in the game are impressive. The city is colorful and full of life. The whole world is made of bricks, which also makes an amazing impression. Many buildings or elements visible on the screen can be destroyed in a grandiose fashion. LEGO City Undercover is a worthy addition to the series of the adventures of the plastic people. As in every game of this type, also, in this case, the game does not lack the characteristic humor and references to the world of mass culture. With its pleasing visual design, gratifying mechanics, and engaging storyline, the game can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
