Mortal Kombat 11

It is crazy to think that Mortal Kombat is the better part of 30 years old. Mortal Kombat 11 is the third game in the current series. The studio behind the game has been knocking it out the park the last decade with the Mortal Kombat reboot as well as the Injustice series.

How to Download Mortal Kombat 11

The game can be downloaded from Steam. You should also check out its predecessor Mortal Kombat X.

The Game Review

So where to start with Mortal Kombat 11? I will start with what I was looking forward to the most and that is the story. NetherRealm has changed the way that fighting games handle their story and I am going to go as far as to say that Mortal Kombat 11 tells the best story in this current trilogy.

I do not want to spoil anything here, but it follows on from the events of Mortal Kombat 11. There is a new “big bad” in this game called, Kronika. Kronika can play around with time and the story features a lot of time travel. This is awesome as it makes for some great moments where we get old MK characters mixing it up with new. Even crazier than that is when a character meets a younger/older version of themselves.

There is a section in the story where current Johnny Cage meets younger Johnny Cage and it is amazing. As well as the story mode to play through, Mortal Kombat 11 has a lot of content for you to enjoy. There are these towers (similar to what was in MK9 and Injustice 2) and these change from time to time.

These have different modifiers. It can be all kinds of crazy things such as you get shocked very five minutes or missiles fall from the sky. There is a ton of things and some of the towers are more fun than others as a result of this. I like this and it is one of the ways that you will be getting most of the loot that Mortal Kombat 11 has to offer.

The Krypt is back and it is set on Shang Tsung’s island and if you are a long time MK fan you will love the fan service here. The problem though is that the grind here is rather brutal. The speed at which you earn the currency to unlock everything is a little harsh, but NetherRealm is working on it.

Thankfully it is really only cosmetics that you will be unlocking and there is a ton of them. These are really cool and as well as changing the look of your chosen character. You can make them better in many different ways such as making Sub-Zero doing 30 percent more damage.

The actual fighting action in Mortal Kombat 11 is a little bit slower, but I feel it works much better. The game is the perfect blend of being accessible to new players who just want to have fun. As well as fighting game maniacs who want to get into the game super deep and really learn each character. If you are a new player to the series, you are in luck as Mortal Kombat 11 has the best tutorial in a fighting game I have ever seen.

The gameplay is just fantastic all around and it still has all the gore and the fatalities, but it is the Krushing Blows which are new which I really like. These can be used once per match and only when you are at low health! These can turn the tide of battle back in your favor and they look brutal!

Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the best games I have played so far this year. If you like the other two games, what are you waiting for??? You need to go out and get this as it is one of the best entries in the entire series. It is packed with content, it has a fantastic story and the actual fighting is amazing.
