The Game Review
On the main menu, players begin by having to select from two main types of game modes: Arcade Mode and Campaign Mode. Arcade mode offers a wide variety of races to the players which include single race, time trial, drift trial, custom race, split-screen, and Virtual Reality tour.
In any case, players get to select the time and location of their race after which they get to pick their favorite cars and compete against their opponents. This mode also offers players to play in split screen with their friends and compete against one another.
In general, the main aim of the arcade mode is to win challenges from your opponents whether it is in the form of a race or drift competition. Moving on to the campaign gameplay, players are given Honda Type R as their beginning car. Before they begin doing actual missions, all players must go through the driving school where they learn the basic controls in order to properly control their cars and make full use of their engines.
Once all the tests are cleared, players begin doing different missions which basically consist of competing in races on different tracks and at different times, with each mission being more difficult than the previous one. After successfully completing the missions, players earn experience and coins through which they can buy new cars and customize them as they see fit.
Apart from that, the game also features an online mode where players can compete against one another in different tournaments and carve their names on the world rankings list. Gran Turismo Sport features a total of 177 original cars that belong to companies including Ford, Porsche, BMW, and Aston Martin amongst many others.
This is a game which can be compared to Forza Motorsport 7. Both the games portray state-of-the-art visuals and graphics, as well as target a fabulous 60 frames per second. Being a racing game, both Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Motorsport 7 share the same overall goal and plot as well by making players compete in races in order to win points and trophies.
The one clear edge that Forza Motorsport 7 holds is based around the 700 playable cars compared to Gran Turismo Sport’s measly amount of 177. This provides more opportunities for the players to further enhance their experience while playing the game.
Overall, Gran Turismo Sport is a lifelike racing game that features a very competitive environment for anyone who plays the game. The game offers a wide variety of modes and challenges that make the players want to go further and keep on playing until they can win it all.
