Table Top Racing: World Tour – Nitro Edition is the Nintendo Switch version of the popular Table Top Racing game (which was released in 2013 for iOS and later ported to Android, Vita, PS4, Xbox One, and Windows). This is the kind of game that is a perfect fit for a console like the Nintendo Switch and with all the content they are packing into this it is giving you a lot of bang for your buck.

The Game Review
So, what is the deal with the massive name? Well, Table Top Racing: World Tour – Nitro Edition is not just a port of the standard version (of which I played o PS4) this contains all of the DLC and updates that the game received on other platforms. In other words, it is kind of like a game of the year edition.
What got me interested in this game was that it felt like a modern take on Micro Machines. This is a game I put a ton of time into as a kid so I was excited for something similar. In the game, you have 16 different vehicles that you can unlock and race.
The vehicles have a ton of personality to them and my personal favorite has to be the RV that is inspired by Breaking Bad. The vehicles allow you to tune them up which is what you will need to do in order to get through the lengthy campaign. There are over 30 tracks for you to race on, but the game has “challenges” that will make you race on one track more than once.
The single player aspect of the game is going to take you a lot of time to get through. Even more so if you are someone who wants to get three stars on each level. If you want to do all of the challenges there are actually 175 of them so this is going to be something that takes you quite a while to get through.
One of the big features of the Nintendo Switch version of this game is the split screen multiplayer. I have played a lot of this with my son and we have had a great time. You can do the standard racing or you can take part in battle mode, both offer you a fun time. There is also some online multiplayer, but I have not jumped into that just yet.
The presentation is pretty great. I like the arcade style and there are eight different locations. The game I feel has a more realistic look than a game like Micro Machines did back in the day. However, I will say that I do think there is a lot of charm here and in general things do look pretty slick.
I have had a great time with Table Top Racing: World Tour – Nitro Edition so far. I enjoy the multiplayer, but I was very surprised at how much content the single player aspect of the game has. I think this is a perfect game for the Nintendo Switch as some of the challenges are short making them perfect for on the go gaming.
