Plague Inc: Evolved is a computer port of Plague Inc. – a strategy game that was available for mobile devices. The game was created by Ndemic Creations and is inspired by the movie Contagion from 2011 and the flash game called Pandemic 2. The title is a simulator of the epidemic. The task for the player is to infect and annihilate the whole Earth population. To this end, it will be necessary to overcome the resistance of humans. And humanity will not perish without a fight.

How to Play
There are two modes that are available in the game – the single-player mode and the multiplayer mode. In the single-player mode, we can choose the main campaign or the scenarios created by the authors or other players. Thus we have a lot of diversity. What’s interesting there are also historical scenarios in which the goal of the player is to spread the epidemic know from the past, like Black Death or Nipah virus.
At the beginning of the game, the player has to choose the type of microorganism which will be the origin of the epidemic. it is important because different pathogens exhibit different behavior (we can choose between parasites, bacteria, viruses, etc. having a total of 10 types of disease). Additionally, besides configuring the basic settings at the start such as the difficulty level or modifications (unlocked during the game) the player can name the disease.
The process of the disease spreading can be watched on a three-dimensional map but the monitoring of how well the pathogen is doing is of course not the only task of the player. The core of the gameplay in Plague Inc: Evolved is the development of the pathogen itself, modification of its structure so it would become an even more deadly weapon for the humankind destruction. Thus it is possible to control the properties of the microorganism, the way it can be spread and its resistance to atmospheric conditions. Last but not least the player can control the symptoms of the sickness.

During the gameplay, the goal for the player is to watch the statistics which inform how well (or bad) the epidemic is spreading and developing. This is important because the human race fights back, coming up with antibodies and vaccines created in order to stop the malady. In order to counterattack, the player will need to modify its deadly pet. All this is should be done if we don’t want to let things go awry – we cannot allow having more deaths than the number of infected people.
In between the scenarios the players can browse through their list of achievements and contemplate leaderboards. The number of points awarded for the players’ efforts depends on several factors including the time need for the extermination of the population and the number of survivors.
The computer version of the game was released in February 2014 as an early access title on the Steam platform. It’s been constantly developed since then.
