The film 365 Days: This Day is the sequel to the 2020 Polish movie 365 Days. Like the first movie, Netflix would end up with distribution rights. I was not a huge fan of the first movie, I felt like it was just trying to get by on the sex alone and while sex in a movie can be great, if there is no substance to go along with it, it can be hard (no pun intended!) to keep people interested in the movie.

The Movie Review
What we have here with 365 Days: This Day is a direct sequel to 365 Days and it picks up where the first movie left off. Our main characters are once again Laura and the new don, Massimo. I went into the first movie thinking that the gangster storyline would make it a “love” story that I could get behind, but it never really came to anything.
I have to say that the same rings true for this movie here, the “gangster” aspect of it is pretty much nothing. The main plot of the movie is about Laura and her disdain for her life as the wife of a don. At the end of the first movie when she lost the baby, I felt that this could be a big thing in a sequel, but like most other plot points, it never really goes anywhere.
We also have Laura being tempted by a rather mysterious man, but you never really buy into this. I got kind of frustrated by the way that the various “associations” that Massimo has due to him being a don are teased like they could lead to something cool, but ultimately nothing exciting ever really comes from it.
Laura also has her friend, Olga who is having a rather “hot” relationship with a mafia associate of Massimo’s. I think that there are some interesting ideas that could have been explored in 365 Days: This Day, but it seems like the whole point of the movie is to go from one sex scene to the next.
This is probably as hardcore as you can get when it comes to sex in a movie without it being classed as being a porn movie. I am not even saying that as a joke either, if you get embarrassed by gratuitous sex scenes, 365 Days: This Day is a movie that you sure as heck do not want to watch with other people.
I can see why some people would be flat-out horrified at the way the movie portrays relationships. The main relationships that we see in the movie are pretty messed up, but the movie kind of plays them like they are more “tragic” instead of them just being straight-up abusive which is the tone I was getting from it.
If you liked the first movie, you will probably like 365 Days: This Day. I like the idea of having a love story with lots of sex and gangster stuff going on, but the execution here is not great at all. If you want a movie with lots of sex, this is hard to beat, but if you want some substance to go along with that, you will not find that here.
