Ant-Man is a superhero action film produced by Marvel Studios. The film is directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Peña as the main cast. Released on 29th June 2015, Ant-Man talks about the story of a sympathetic thief known as Scott Lang.

The Film Review and the Plot
Lang, after coming out of prison, teams up with his old cellmate and commits a burglary where he manages to steal Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit. Lang wears the suit and experiences its shrinking effects after which he becomes terrified and returns it to Pym. Lang tries to escape from Pym’s house but is arrested on his way out. Pym smuggles the Ant-Man suit into prison and hands it over to Lang in order to assist him in his escape. Pym then explains to Lang how he’s a scientist who fears that his former apprentice, Darren Cross, plans on replicating his Ant-Man suit and selling it to terrorists.
Lang agrees to help Pym, meanwhile, Cross holds an opening ceremony to reveal his own Ant-Suit which he calls the Yellowjacket. Lang, along with the rest of the crew and a swarm of flying ants, infiltrates the building and sabotages the company’s servers by planting explosives all around the area.
In the midst of all the action, Lang gets arrested whereas Cross manages to kidnap Lang’s daughter Cassey and threatens to kill her. Lang pulls off a dangerous stunt by shrinking into subatomic size through which, he manages to save his daughter and kill Cross by tampering with his Yellowjacket, making his suit shrink uncontrollably.
Special Effects
Like all superhero films, Ant-Man is also a combination of brilliant acting mixed together with just the right kind of visual effects. Several companies worked on providing these effects which include Industrial Light & Magic, Lola VFX, Double Negative, Luma Pictures, and Method Studios.
Each company involved was in charge of controlling a certain aspect of the film. Double Negative was responsible for the scenes featuring the shrunken characters whereas Industrial Light & Magic also worked alongside Double Negative in creating Ant-Man’s shrinking effect.
Lola VFX was involved in the de-aging process of Douglas and Donovan that was shown in the flashbacks. Lola VFX used the same process and a similar method that was also used in making Steve Rogers look skinny in the Captain America movie. The companies overall worked together and combined their bits of effects into making the movie what it is today.
Ant-Man Music
Moving on, the main theme song of the film is called Bring It On and was composed by Christophe Beck and Reed. Beck claimed that he wanted to make Ant-Man’s score different and catchier than the other Marvel films.
The Movie Success
Overall, Ant-Man is a film which was received very well both by fans and critics as it managed to claim over $519 million at the box office. This Marvel film is relatively different in terms of creativity as it adds occasional humor with the classic Marvel action, making it one to watch.
