Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son

It is crazy that there are 11 years between the first movie and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. It is even crazier that there is a Big Mommas trilogy! When I said that the best thing about the second movie was that it was at least better than the third movie, that tells you pretty much all you need to know about my thoughts in regard to this.

How to Download Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son

The Movie Review

The second movie was completely unnecessary and was nowhere near as good as the first, which itself was not exactly amazing. However, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son is garbage, like pure garbage. How they managed to convince Martin Lawrence to come back for this is beyond me, I can only assume the studio must have had some real dirt on him.

Trent’s Musical Ambitions

The plot this time around sees Trent all grown up as a teenager. Trent is now played by Brandon T. Jackson and he has dreams of becoming a musician. He wants to be a musician rather than going to college and he has a chance at an opportunity, but he needs his stepdad, Malcolm to sign off on a record contract.

A Failed Plan and a Desperate Move

Malcolm does not want Trent to do this and wants him to go to university. Trent has the great idea to surprise Malcolm while he is at work to get him to sign it. However, when you think that Malcolm is a cop, Trent’s plan makes no sense at all! Malcolm is in the middle of a sting operation with some big mobster goon and Trent witnesses a murder.

The Undercover Scheme

Malcolm realizes that Trent has been recognized by the goons. To avoid Trent being targeted and killed, Malcolm decides that they have to go undercover, you know what that means! Martin Lawrence gets to dress up as a woman and put on a fat suit. Only this time, Brandon T Jackson has to do the same as they are heading to an all girls school to lay low and avoid the killers.

Lackluster Comedy and Predictable Plot

This is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen and I have a high tolerance for bad and dumb movies! It is about as predictable as you can get with Trent falling in love with a girl, but she thinks he is a girl…. Look, I am not going into any more details about the plot, it is boring, it makes no sense, and worst of all, it is not even funny! I did not like the second movie, but it at least had a few scenes that I got a kick out of.

The Waning Charm of Big Momma

In Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, the novelty of Martin Lawrence dressed up as an old, overweight woman has well and truly lost its charm. You have to wonder what the studio was thinking here! It came out a few years after part 2, did they really think people were that desperate to see Big Momma again? I think that the first movie is passable, but to be honest with you, with how much I do not like the two sequels, it makes me never want to watch any of these again.
