Ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home, I have been hyped for Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. I will admit, his first solo outing is not one of my favorite movies in the MCU, but I think he is a fantastic character. Benedict Cumberbatch is just perfect in this role and I think as a supporting cast member he is great.

The Movie Review
Sam Rami handling the directing duties is another reason I am excited about this movie and while I think it is nowhere near close to being a “horror movie” like some people thought it would be, it is certainly one of the darker and more sinister entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
You can tell right away that this is a Sam Rami movie. If you are a fan of Sam Rami’s work, you will no doubt get a kick out of how “Rami” this movie looks in terms of the set design, camera work, and the overall aesthetic. It is awesome how Marvel let him put his own stamp on this movie. Even those not too familiar with his work are going to think it is cool how different this movie looks from the rest of the MCU.
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness is pretty crazy as far as the plot goes. While the trailer does spoil something, I think they do a great job in keeping who the antagonist in the movie is under wraps until you are sitting in the theatre. This is 100 percent a movie that is made better by not knowing everything about it before you go and see it.
We meet a new character in America Chavez who has the power to jump between universes and something wants to steal this power and Doctor Strange is trying to help her and save the multiverse in the process. America Chavez is a fantastic addition to the franchise and Xochitl Gomez does a wonderful job portraying her in the movie. We also get some returnees from the first Doctor Strange movie in Baron Mordo and love interest Christine Palmer.
There are a lot of rumors and spoilers floating around about other Marvel characters being in the movie. Do yourself a favor and ignore them all and just go watch the movie as I am sure you will be surprised by a few of the characters that show up in this movie. Speaking of surprise characters, I am mad as hell that the trailer for this movie spoiled something huge! This is becoming a regular thing where movies give away too much in the trailer and I do not like it.
One other thing I have to mention about Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness is the music. Danny Elfman handled the score and it is truly fantastic, I know I am still high on the movie as I write this, but it may be my favorite score of any movie in the MCU! Danny Elfman’s music along with Rami’s visuals truly are a perfect match for each other.
The Bottom Line
In all, I had a great time with Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. I certainly think it is better than the first solo outing for Stephen Strange and it serves as a good follow-up to No Way Home as well as something else for other MCU movies to take off from. Be sure to make the effort to see this one in the theatre, it is a movie made to be watched on the big screen.
