Today I am sharing my thoughts on the badass action show, Echo 3. Echo 3 is another fantastic addition to the Apple TV+ service and it was a show that I had a great deal of fun with. What we have here with Echo 3 is what I imagine a Call of Duty TV show or movie could be like and I mean that in a very complimentary way.

The Movie Review
The show is brought to us by Mark Boal. Having the guy behind the stories of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, lets you know what kind of show you are in for here! I have to say that while I enjoyed Echo 3, it came so close to being a 9/10 show, but like many other streaming TV service shows, it lasts just a couple of episodes too long! I swear, if they cut this down to 8 instead of 10 episodes, it would have been far better for it.
Anyway, let’s get to what the story is here. Amber Chesborough is a smart and capable scientist that is working in Columbia, working on something pretty big. Amber is a likable character and a character that goes through some massive growth by the time the last episode finishes.
Now, the setting of the show is Columbia and there is a brutal war that is brewing there. Amber ends caught up in this and is taken hostage. This scene is just bone-chilling and you are legit scared for her and the other people. This show is fantastic at making you feel tense and worried for the characters on the screen.
While Amber is in a dire situation, she has it a bit better than most. Amber’s brother, “Bambi” and her husband, “Prince” are two badass and very capable members of the US Army Delta Force unit and they are going in to get her back. Now, these two have a very strained relationship when this goes down so it makes for a rather uneasy pairing in some cases.
The show is basically about Prince and Bambi trying to get Amber back and then get the hell out of Columbia. The action scenes in this show are just amazing and the highlight of the whole show if I am being honest! There are so many great action scenes in the show and this is when it is at its most entertaining.
While I loved the action scenes Echo 3 had to offer. I have to say that they do a great job with the tension too. No spoilers here, but there is a scene where our three leads are trying to get out of this market-type place and it is just so well shot that you are terrified for them all!
I just feel that there are some sections of the show where things slow down and I get it needs to catch its breath on occasion, but some of this stuff feels like filler if I am being honest. The show is 100 percent at its best when Bambi and Prince are kicking ass or trying to sneak out of someplace undetected.
If you love war and action-style shows, Echo 3 is something that you will have a lot of fun with. While I do have a couple of things I am not a massive fan of, the positives by a mile outweigh the negatives. The ending here is pretty damn shocking too, not all happy, happy, joy, joy like you may think it will be!
