Back in 2001 when Universal first released The Fast & The Furious there is no way that they could have for seen it would be the start of one of the biggest movie franchises of all time. That is not an exaggeration either, as I write this The Fast & The Furious franchise is the biggest in Universal history and number 8 on the all-time box office for franchises!

Fast & Furious 6 Movie Review
This sixth movie was directed by Justin Lin and it would be the fourth and last movie in the franchise for him. It featured all the cast from the previous installments such as Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Jordana Brewster to name some of the main ones.
After six movies you would think that things were getting a little stale. Also with the way the fifth movie ended on a happy note, you could have thought that they would have called it a day and let the franchise lay. Thankfully the writer Chris Morgan and Justin Lin were more than up to the task of kicking things up a notch.
It is fun the way the series started off about racing and that was the main selling point and then it turned more into being about heists, espionage and just balls to the wall action. Without getting into spoilers the movie this time around sees the gang living the high life after their successful heist in Brazil. They all seem happy and it is great to see them like that.
Luke Hobbs who is once again played by Dwayne Johnson who if you ask me has become the face of this franchise is on the hunt for a former SAS man from the UK called, Owen Hobbs. Hobbs has put together a team and he is kind of like a more extreme and cool James Bond villain. Luke Evans plays this role and he is absolutely awesome in it.
Hobbs goes to his “buddy” Dom (Vin Diesel) and asks for his help in bringing him in. Why on earth would he do that? Well, first of all, Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty who has long been thought dead has been seen with him and also he promises him and the rest of the game immunity of they all help. It is a fun and crazy plot and thankfully the action is even crazier.
Some people will say that there is no substance to the Fast & Furious movies, but I wholeheartedly disagree. There are some awesome characters that you care about and the action is just insane. It is hard to rank the Fast & The Furious movies in terms of their set piece, but I would certainly put this sixth installment close to the top.
It is a fun popcorn style movie and a movie I have seen a few times now and it never gets old. I would say that you really do have to have seen at the very least the fifth movie in order to fully understand and appreciate what is going on. Actually forget that, go back and watch them all as they are all a fun time.
One extra little thing I want to touch on with this movie is in its pre-release hype. The trailers for the movie completely spoiled the fact that Letty was still alive! Why do modern movie trailers have to give away the goods? This would have been a great reveal and it is my only negative about the movie. As that was the trailer and not the actual movie that tells you how highly I think of Fast & Furious 6.
