From Dusk Till Dawn is one of the greatest movies of the ’90s, there I said it! The crazy thing is, I remember when this came out, there was a guy on TV reviewing it and he gave it a six! The thing is, this was not deemed the classic that it is regarded as today, back when it was first released. I did not see this in the theatre, but I did rent it on VHS when it came out and I loved it right away.

The Movie Review
A Thrilling Plot with a Memorable Cast
This is a movie about two brothers, Seth and Richie who are on the run from the law. Seth is played by George Clooney and this is the best George Clooney role hands down, nothing will convince me otherwise. Richie is played by Quintin Tarantino (who wrote the movie) and he is a sadistic and messed up killer who Seth manages to keep in check, well until he leaves Richie in a hotel room with their hostage, who Richie rapes and kills!
The High-Octane Action and the Epic Twist
From Dusk Till Dawn starts off like an action/crime movie and the movie moves at a great and quick pace. Seth manages to get them passage to a safe haven for crooks in Mexico, but they need transport and more hostages to make it over the border. This is where Harvey Keitel’s Jacob and his kids, Kate (Juliette Lewis) and Scott (Ernest Lui) come in.
Jacob is a preacher who is traveling in his camper van with his kids, but he is having a crisis of faith after the death of his wife. Jacob and his kids are taken hostage by Seth and Richie and they are heading to a bar called The Titty Twister in the middle of nowhere to meet Seth’s contact to get them over the border.
A Vampire Bar with a Shocking Reveal
It is a simple thing really, they just need to hang out and wait here until the morning, but this is where the big twist of From Dusk Till Dawn comes. Turns out that The Titty Twister is a bar for vampires and Seth, Richie, Jacob, and his kids, as well as some other patrons, are on the menu for these bloodsuckers.
Iconic Scenes and Fast-Paced Horror
The scene where the vampires are revealed is just so freaking epic. We get this super hot dance from Selma Hayek before she turns into a vampire and it is so awesome. It has long been rumored that Quintin Tarantino wrote this scene just so he could get Sela Hayek’s foot in his mouth! Hey, I am not saying it is true, but this is something people have said over the years.
A Cult Classic with Enduring Appeal
The movie moves at 100 mph and once all hell breaks loose, Seth, Jacob, and the rest need to band together to fight and try to survive until daylight. I am a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez (the director) and Quintin Tarantino and this is my favorite work that both of these amazing talented guys have done.
From Dusk Till Dawn would get a sequel and a prequel, both of which are ok at best. However, the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series is a lot of fun. This is just a very fun movie and a movie I have seen probably 20-plus times and never got bored of it. I remember renting this and I watched it three times over the weekend that I had it! This movie is a perfect 10 for me, there is legit not a single thing I dislike about this movie!
