I loved Knives Out; it is one of the best “whodunnit” movies of the last 20 years and I was so excited when I heard we were getting a sequel. While Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a sequel, you do not need to have seen the first one to watch this. Although, I would still recommend it as it is a fantastic movie.

The Movie Review
Written and directed by Rian Johnson, I would argue that this is his best work to date. Once again we have Daniel Craig as the super detective Benoit Blanc and he finds himself in the middle of one of the strangest cases of his career. He has found himself in paradise… well it would be paradise if it were not for a case of murder.
The story is just so much fun and keeps you guessing and laughing the whole time. Billionaire Miles Bron has invited a select group of 1 percenters to his home for a murder mystery party. However, there is more going on here than you think at first and one of the people at this party are not exactly who they at first appear to be.
With a movie like Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the less you know about the plot the more fun you are going to have with it. As you would have guessed (or seen in the trailers) a real murder occurs and Benoit Blanc is on the case here to try and figure out just what the heck is going on.
The cast of characters is fantastic and a very clever way of poking fun at many of today’s “celebrities”. We have a political figure, a male rights activist Twitch streamer, a bimbo fashion designer, and more. It makes for an excellent and hilarious cast of individuals that are all just so entertaining.
A huge reason why the movie is so good is the cast. Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Jannelle Monae, and Kathryn Hahn are all amazing, but to be honest, every actor in this movie plays their role to perfection. It is a rare movie where you can honestly say that there is not a weak link in the entire cast!
Now, we do of course have to give some special attention to Daniel Craig. You can tell that he is having so much fun playing Benoit Blanc and he is even better in this movie than he was the first time around. He is just so captivating and you feel like you get to know him a bit better this time around.
One thing that I feel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery deserves a ton of credit for is the whole style of the movie. As this is basically a story about rich assholes, the immense wealth, privilege, and style that is on display here is fantastic. It is all done in a very tongue-in-cheek manner and I do not know what the budget for this movie was, but a huge chunk of it had to go on the sets and locations!
Look, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a fantastic movie, a great way to bring the movies of 2022 to a close. It is one of the best whodunnit movies I have ever seen and I had a smile on my face the whole time I watched it. This is most certainly one of the best movies Netflix has produced to date and I am all in if they decide to make a third!
