You know I think that Isn’t It Romantic might be close to the top of my all-time favorite romantic comedies list! Thanks to my wife, I have seen plenty of romantic comedies and I have always gotten a kick out of their overused tropes. Isn’t It Romantic is a movie that is flipping the idea of a romantic comedy on its head and it does it nearly flawlessly.

The Movie Review
We have a great main cast here with Rebel Wilson as Natalie, Adam Divine as Josh, and Liam Hemsworth as Blake. While it is the three main leads who will get all the attention, the excellent supporting cast is a huge reason why this movie works as incredibly well as it does.
The plot of the movie follows Natalie who is an architect who thinks love is not fair and she has a real dislike for romantic comedies. Her friend tells her that her co-worker Josh has a crush on her, but she dismisses it. Natalie is the victim of a mugging one day and ends up knocked out and this is where the fun really begins.
When Natalie wakes up things are weird, she finds herself trapped in a romantic comedy with all the cliches and tropes included. Her “friend” is now a bitchy enemy, she has a gay best friend, and her dreamboat rich client, Blake has a romantic interest in her. As she hates romantic comedies, Natalie wants to get back to the real world as soon as she can.
As you would expect, Natalie ends up going on a journey of real self-discovery. She assumes that as she is trapped in a romantic comedy, she needs to find true love to get out of it. She realizes that she does have feelings for Josh, but what she really needs to find is a way to love herself.
The humor in this movie is fantastic thanks to the incredible cast. This is a movie that will make you laugh a great deal and they are well-deserved laughs too thanks to the witty writing and great execution. From PG-13 style sex scenes, musical numbers, montages, and more, if you can think of a romantic comedy cliche, this movie is going to make fun of it.

Bottom Line
It is one of those movies where you can see the ending coming from a mile away, but the journey to get there is just so much fun you do not care. One interesting thing and this is something that my wife disagrees with. I felt that by the end of the movie, it did kind of become the thing that it was making fun of, but I do not necessarily mean that in a bad way.
Even if you are someone who is not usually into romantic comedies, I highly recommend that you check out Isn’t It Romantic. This is just a fun and good-hearted movie that will have you smiling the whole way through it. Plus, it really is the perfect date night kind of movie for you and your significant other!
