What a freaking movie! John Wick: Chapter 4 is 100 percent going to be on my movies of the year list. This movie just clicked with me on every single level and it is amazing that we are four movies into the John Wick universe and this one is the best. That is right, I am saying this right off the bat, John Wick: Chapter 4 is the best in the John Wick saga…. So far!

The Movie Review
If you have seen the trailers and seen the previous John Wick movies, you know what to expect here. John is hiding underground, healing up, and getting ready to dish out a full-on assault on the High Table to get his freedom. The High Table are sick of John Wick and wants him dead.
That is the basics of the plot and I know it sounds basic, but John Wick: Chapter 4 is a very deep movie with compelling characters, lore, and more than enough threads that could be explored in future movies and the upcoming TV series. Outside of John Wick, I would need both hands to count all of the interesting and well-developed characters that this movie has.
My favorite has to be Donnie Yen as Caine. Caine is a blind martial arts master and friend of John Wick who is forced to hunt down his old friend. Donnie Yen is such a badass and him once again playing a blind master is a lot of fun. His action scenes are some of the best that I have ever seen and legit had me on the edge of my seat.
We also have Bill Skarsgard and he is Marquis Vincent de Gramont who is in a very high and respected position on the High Table. He is such an asshole and a great villain, one who you really want to see get his comeuppance. Skarsgard is just incredible in this role and he is clearly having the time of his life bringing this character to life.
As much as I loved the first three John Wick movies, I was kind of worried when I heard that John Wick: Chapter 4 was going to be the better part of three hours! I was of the opinion that an action movie did not need to be the better part of three hours long, but boy was I wrong.
The pacing in this movie is pretty much perfect, never once did I feel like I was watching a movie that lasted nearly three hours. It is always moving things forward and even when there is no action happening, you care about the characters and their situations. It is just a phenomenally well-made movie, I legit do not see what they could have cut to make it have a shorter runtime!
As you have probably figured out, I loved John Wick: Chapter 4. I was thinking that perhaps 4 was one too many, nope, this raises the stakes and the ending was perfect! It was so perfect that I was kind of bummed that this is said to be the last John Wick movie. Hopefully, we get some spin-offs and I am very excited about the upcoming TV show spin-off.
