My Little Pony: The Movie is an animated comedy film produced by Allspark Pictures and DHX Media. The film was released on 24th September 2017 and is based on the television series called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
The film is directed by Jayson Thiessen and stars Tara Strong, Emily Blunt, Liev Schreiber, Uzo Aduba, and Kristin Chenoweth as the main cast.

The Film Review
The movie revolves around the character of Princess Twilight Sparkle as she prepares to host the first-ever friendship festival. The event is distorted after Tempest, a broken-horned unicorn invades Equestria and turns all the other princess ponies to stone using magical obsidian orbs.
Twilight manages to escape and seek help from the queen of hippos meanwhile, Tempest receives orders from her superior, The Storm King, to capture all the ponies including Twilight so he can use their power to heal her broken horn. Twilight, accompanied by her friends, manages to reach the hippos after inadvertently falling into a cavern full of water.
Twilight Sparkle then encounters Princess Skystar along with her mother, Queen Novo. It is revealed that Novo possesses a magical pearl that can transform beings, however, Novo refuses to hand the pearl over to Twilight.
In a desperate attempt to save her loved ones in Equestria, Twilight attempts to steal the pearl but is found out after which, she becomes abandoned by the rest of her group. To make things worse, she is captured by Tempest and presented to the Storm King. The Storm King betrays Tempest as well and tries to kill her but is saved by Twilight. Meanwhile, the rest of Twilight’s friends’ gather together and manage to defeat The Storm King. Equestria is saved and the festival of friendship finally takes place.
After the success of the hit TV animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, it was announced on 20th October 2014 that a film was in the works as well. Michel Gagné, the main effects animator of the film, announced that the film being animated would use the software called Toon Boom Harmony instead of Adobe Flash which was being used in the animated series. Thiessen claimed that they wanted to keep the features of the animated series intact while also making minor and useful changes to the overall effects in the film. The animators used 3D modeling with Autodesk Maya which made it easier for them to establish different camera locations, lenses, angles, and lighting amongst many other factors.
The film’s main theme song along with the other soundtracks was composed by Daniel Ingram. The official soundtrack for the film was released on 22nd September 2017 by RCA Records.
Overall, My Little Pony: The Movie is a very entertaining film. It contains just the right amount of entertainment along with a mix of colors that particularly attract the kids and make them want to watch the film. On top of that, the friendly musicals also make everyone want to sing along to the rhythm.
