PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie

I remember taking my niece and nephew to see the first Paw Patrol movie two years ago and it was a fun time. This time my niece was way too cool to go, but my nephew still wanted to so we made a day of it. Let me tell you, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is a solid and fun kid’s movie!

The Movie Review

It is so easy to be cynical and just say that this movie is made to sell more toys (which I guess is part of it) however, this is a kid’s movie that has a ton of heart. Plus, it is also very well made. It looks similar to the TV series, but it has a much higher quality about it which makes it feel much more special.

The Connection to the TV Series

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie does tie into the TV series. At the moment they are doing something with The Mighty Pups! This is basically our four-legged friends getting superpowers and using them for good around Adventure Bay. This movie ties directly into that which my nephew thought was really cool.

Two Main Parts of the Story

There are two main parts to the story in PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. The first part is more your typical Paw Patrol adventure story. Mayor Humdinger and Victoria Vance are up to no good, Humdinger has busted out of jail and now this dastardly duo is looking to steal the pup’s crystals. I will say that while this does tie into the recent Mighty Pups series of Paw Patrol, they do a good job of getting you up to speed on how the pups have superpowers.

The Extra Mile

That right there would be enough to get kids to think the movie is awesome. However, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie goes that extra mile. The last Paw Patrol movie was similar in that it had a lot of action and funny stuff, but it had some depth to with Chase losing his confidence and him trying to be brave and get it back.

Skye Takes the Spotlight

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie Does something similar. This time around Skye is the one who gets top billing and we get to see the rather sad life she had before she was part of the team. If you are a dog lover I am sure you will find this quite sad, the extra bit of depth that Skye gets in the movie makes her the star in my opinion and I know she was my nephew’s favorite character.

A Trip to the Toy Store

I know this because he told me when we left the theatre and also how it would be cool to have a Mighty Pups Skye figure…. So, we headed to the toy store before we went home! PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is a great-looking and sounding movie. I feel like they really did put a lot of effort into this and it is not just a quick cash grab, although I am sure like the last movie, it will do very well.

If your kids, younger siblings, or your nieces and nephews want to go and see this, take them! It is a fun movie and while it is a kid’s movie, I found parts of it to be funny and I was surprised at how deep some of it was too. Just be warned that they will probably want a bunch of the toys, which were conveniently advertised in my theatre before the movie!
