Sorry for the terrible pun, but Scream VI was an absolute scream! I had so much fun watching this in the theatre and I am probably going to go and watch it again in the theatre before it finishes its run. Seriously, if you love the Scream series, you will not be disappointed with this.

The Movie Review
I remember going to see Scream V in the theater and enjoying it. However, a week before Scream VI, I watched Scream V again and I was shocked, it was way more fun and exciting than I remembered it being. It actually got me way more excited to see Scream VI and I think that they surpassed what they did in Scream V here.
The setting this time around is New York and our sister survivors from the last movie, Tara and Sam are trying to move on. Well, Tara is trying to move on better than Sam as Sam has become really overprotective of Sam. I liked the New York setting and Sam and Tara are not alone as the brother-sister duo from the last movie, Chad and Mindy are also with them.
I will admit, when I heard that there was a new Scream movie without Sidney, I wondered how that would work. I am not scared to say that I was completely wrong as crazy as this sounds, right from the start, I did not even notice Sidney was not there! I feel that the “legacy” characters in Gale and Kirby more than made up for that and kept those links to the past movies in the franchise.
I thought getting Kirby back as an FBI agent was a very clever thing for the story to do. Anyway, you know the drill, Ghost Face shows up in New York and starts stalking Sam and Tara, leaving a vast amount of dead bodies in their wake. It is up to our “heroes” to figure out who Ghost Face is this time and why they are trying to kill them.
It is very typical “Scream” stuff, but it never feels boring or old, it is just an exciting thrill ride from start to end and I will admit, I had about 30000 theories on who was Ghost Face before the big reveal came. I think that they got a fantastic cast with this one and it makes me very excited to see where things will go in the next movie.
One thing that I found extra awesome about Scream VI was the gore! This is arguably the most violent and gruesome of the Scream movies and I 100 percent think that was the right way to go. If anything, I want to see them increase on this with the next movie and take it even further.
As you can tell, Scream VI is a movie that I absolutely loved. Even though it is only March, this I am sure will be on my movies of the year list as I had so much fun with it. Scream fans are in for a real treat here and the more I think about it, the more I feel this may be my favorite of all the Scream movies to date!
