As the third outing for Art the Clown, Terrifier 2 is kicking things up several notches over his last two appearances. I thought that the original Terrifier was a fun slasher movie and this one is too and well worth checking out. If you are scared of blood and gore, let me tell you right away that this is not a movie for you!

The Movie Review
This movie takes place after the first and sees Art the Clown being resurrected by a mysterious entity. Art the Clown is kind of led by this creepy-as-hell character called The Little Pale Girl. I have to say that The Little Pale Girl is awesome and I do wish we got more in the movie about her, perhaps this is left on purpose for a sequel/spin-off?
While Terrifier 2 is a sequel it is not 100 percent essential to have seen the first movie as they do drop more than enough references and hints about what went down with the massacre in the first movie. Still, I do think you will appreciate the gore, blood, and brutality more here if you have seen Terrifier 1 first.
Anyway, this time around Art the Clown is terrorizing this small town and he is going up against the brother and sister duo of Sienna and Johnathon. Johnathon finds an old sketchbook of his dads that has many drawings and bits of info about Art the Clown and he is sure his dad knew how to stop him.
What we get is a slasher movie with Art the Clown causing absolute mayhem. It all comes down to a showdown with Art and Siena and Johnathon that I thought was really cool. It leaves things wide open for another movie and it also has one of the most messed up credits scenes that I have ever seen so be sure to keep watching for that.
The thing that Terrifier 2 does best is to offer intense and crazy kills. The step up from the first in terms of gore is astounding and I give the people behind the practical effects here a big high five! It makes me wonder how the heck they could actually top this if they all come back for Terrifier 3!
I have to say that I feel Art the Clown is one of the best horror villains that has been created in the last few decades. The way that David Howard Thornton plays this role is just so much fun, kind of goofy one second and then evil the next. He is a truly fantastic slasher villain and I could see him becoming a real icon over the years.
As much fun and as much blood as there is in this movie, one common criticism that you will read about this is the run time. This clocks in at a little over two hours and to be honest with you, I can see why some may say that is too long for a slasher movie. However, to be honest with you, I am not actually sure what they could have cut here, plus I think it still moves at a decent pace.
I had a lot of fun with Terrifier 2 and preferred it to the first movie. It just feels like a much higher-quality movie all around. It has some of the goriest kills I have seen in a horror movie for quite some time and Art the Clown is a fun villain too. I would recommend that you watch the first one and this one back to back!
