When Zombieland first released back in 2009 I thought that it was the most awesome thing ever! I love zombie movies, I love comedy movies and this mashed the two together, it is probably one of my favorite horror/comedies of all time. This is one of my go-to comfort movies if I am looking for something fun and easy to watch.

The Movie Review
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (who you may know from the first Venom movie) in what was his first theatrically released movie. Zombieland as you would expect takes place during a zombie apocalypse. On paper, the plot is something that we have seen a million times before, a group of people trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse, but it is the execution that makes this so great.
The Main Characters
Our first main character is called Columbus, played by Jessie Eisenberg. Columbus is a college student who wants to get from Texas back to Ohio to reunite with his parents. Columbus has a series of rules that he uses to help him survive and his uptight and cautious nature is a huge reason as to why he has survived like he has.
On his travels, Columbus meets Tallahassee who is played by Woody Harelson. Tallahassee is the opposite of Columbus, he is loud, tough, and takes real pleasure in killing zombies. He agrees to accompany Columbus and the two of them hit it off in a strange way.
The pair then come across a pair of sisters in Wichita and Little Rock played by Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. Wichita and Litle Rock are kind of like con artists that trick people to get what they need in order to survive. Eventually, the four of them team up and make a rather uneasy alliance in order to survive and head to an amusement park in California.
Hilarious Moments and Memorable Scenes
Zombieland is just awesome, full of so many hilarious moments. My favorite part is probably everyone else favorite part and that is where the four characters stop off at Bill Murry’s mansion. Seeing Bill Murry play himself and Tallahassee fanboy over meeting him is awesome stuff.
Core Characters and Chemistry
On the surface, this is yet another zombie movie. However, I feel that our core four characters are what really make this as they have fantastic chemistry. I was also surprised at how much depth our zombie ass kicker Tallahassee actually had. You legit want all four of these characters to survive.
Gruesome Yet Amusing
The special effects are very well done and we get a whole bunch of very gruesome, but also very amusing zombie kills in this movie. The thing is, it is so over the top, you are not going to be grossed out by it. If anything you are going to get a huge kick out of it and end up laughing at how crazy it is.
A Perfect 10/10 Movie
I cannot say enough good things about Zombieland, it is one of those movies that I have bought each time a new “better” release comes out as I love it so much. It is easily one of my favorite zombie movies of all time. Also, I would put Tallahassee up there as one of Woody Harelson’s most memorable characters! This 100 percent is a perfect 10/10 movie for me!
