About Marc Anthony
Guillermina and Felipe Muniz welcomed Marc Anthony as their pride of joy. The artist gets his music genes from his father, a musician at the time. He would play at a local hospital lunchroom while Marc Anthony’s mother stayed home as a housewife.
Anthony belongs of Puerto Rican descent. However, he grew up in a Spanish neighborhood with seven siblings. Marco Antonio Muniz was named after a famous Mexican singer carrying the same name. Anthony started singing from a very young age. His father was the biggest inspiration. Unfortunately, March Anthony suffered from stage fright. Therefore, Frankie Cutlass began to help the artist create a stage presence. They both lived in the same neighborhood and would collaborate often.
He would freestyle at the Underground New York music house. Marc Anthony would also play at Menudo and Latin Rascals. His first album, Rebel, was released in 1988.
