Written by Minaj herself (but with several other co-authors), Bed is a song which, like most of her songs, are quite physically provocative and confrontational. It debuted at number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 and managed to reach the top 20’s in numerous countries including Scotland, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Bed is a song which discusses the art of intercourse in a very open manner. The entire theme of the song describes how there is a perfect bed waiting for the individual with a thousand sheets.
Minaj and Grande both sing different verses as well as simultaneously together in different patterns. The verses are quite similar, describing the preparations being made for intercourse.
The provocative lyrics stating “Strawberry lingerie, waiting for you, strawberries lingerie” distinctively talk about the process of making love. The chorus itself simply goes “Got a bed wit’ your name on it”. Lastly, the lyrics also reference Lil Wayne’s album The Carter III as well as singer Zayn Malik, with whom she collaborated for an upcoming song.
The Video
Much like its lyrics, the song’s official music video also follows the same provocative theme. The video begins as Minaj appears on the beach, dressed up as a topless mermaid. She then appears in another scene in a bold dress sitting inside a swimming pool, singing along to the music. This is followed up with Aria Grande making an appearance as well in a swimsuit as the two begin to sing together. In a change of environment, Minaj can be seen lying on what seems like a comfortable bed as the chorus plays in the background.
The video follows the same pattern as the songs’ lyrics with the entire shooting taking place whether on a beach, a swimming pool, or inside a room on a bed. Both the performers can be seen wearing bold clothes throughout the sequence, such that Minaj even appears as topless a number of times within the video.
At the end of the sequence, two male performers can be seen laying on beach chairs as they call the opposite duos to come to them. Minaj and Grande head on over to the guys as they high five each other while eating strawberries.

Minaj (whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj), who gained recognition after releasing several mixtapes, released her first studio album called Pink Friday in 2010. The album peaked at number one on numerous countries which gave her the boost that she needed to produce and release further music.
