Fallout 4 is an extremely popular game of the famous post-apocalyptic franchise which dates back to 1997 (to see the history of Fallout check the box in the review of Fallout: New Vegas). In this downloadable title, you will visit a world full of mutants and monsters. This title which belongs to the RPG genre, tells the story of people who survived the nuclear catastrophe and live in unfavorable conditions. The company responsible for Fallout 4 is the American Bethesda Softworks studio, which in addition to the previous three parts of the series has also produced such hit the Elder Scrolls series or the modern installments of the Wolfenstein series. This title had its premiere on November 10, 2015, and is available on PCs and PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The Game Plot
The plot tells the story of the character you create at the outset of the game. The story begins just before the nuclear explosion that changes the face of the whole world. You meet your hero and his family. He spends time with his beloved in the suburbs of Boston. After the explosion, you run for shelter to the anti-nuclear vault, marked with the number 111. The real story begins 200 years later when the conditions on Earth allow you to leave the vault. Then you set off on a journey during which you will try to find the surviving members of your family.
The Game Mechanics
The game combines the mechanics of FPS and TPS games (depending on which camera view you choose). In contrast to the previous parts of the series, much less attention was devoted to the RPG aspects, in exchange for putting a lot of focus on shooting. Of course, it was not possible to omit the attributes systems S.P.E.C.I.A.L. The V.A.T.S. system known from the third part of the series, which allows you to give accurate shots to specific parts of the opponent’s body made it to Fallout 4 as well. A relatively new feature in the series is the opportunity to have a dog or act as part of a small team. In this mode, you can cooperate with the characters controlled by artificial intelligence and give them simple orders. The crafting system was also expanded, which now allows you to disassemble the objects around you and create completely new objects out of them. Another new thing is the ability to build and destroy large objects. The goal of the devs was to create a world that would not restrict the player in any way. Hence, there is great freedom in choosing the course the game would take and the way you would explore the world. In this installment of Fallout, there is also the famous PipBoy organizer.
The Graphics and the Technical Aspects
The graphics engine behind Fallout 4 is the proprietary Bethesda studio tool. It has both its pros and cons. This means that the engine is well-optimized for this game, but it also has several shortcomings.
