Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is a Counter-Strike mod which introduces 19 open scenarios in which you can become the commander of the anti-terrorist unit. CS: CZ is a modification of the slightly outdated 1.6 version of the game. This is quite interesting because Counter-Strike 1.6 is also a mod of the legendary FPS game Half-Life. The studio behind CS: CZ is Turtle Rock Studios, which is also known for such titles as Evolve, Left 4 Dead, and The Well. Ritual Entertainment and Valve also took part in the creation of the game. Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was released on March 23, 2004, and is available only for the computers running Windows, macOS or Linux.

The Plot and the Game Modes
The story presented in the Counter-Strike: Condition Zero game relates the adventures of various anti-terrorist groups from around the world – starting with the American S.W.A.T, and ending with the British SAS or the Russian SPECNAZ. In the game, you play as the commander of one of the units and perform a series of missions, which require certain tasks to be completed. These can be rescuing prisoners or disarming bombs. There is a lot of variety, and the missions themselves, although there are only a dozen of them, are quite long. In addition to the single-player version, the developers have also implemented the multiplayer mode. There you can cooperate with real players instead of their computer counterparts.
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero: the Game Mechanics
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, copies its mechanics from Counter-Strike. Here you basically deal with classic FPS title in which anti-terrorist groups clash with terrorist units from around the world. The artificial intelligence in the game is quite smart and when it cooperates with you, its actions make a lot of sense and can actually help you. Your computer allies are able to regroup during the enemy assault or can protect you from the enemy fire. In addition to the missions known from the classic version of Counter-Strike, in CS: CZ there are also some new ones. These include keeping the hostages alive during the enemy assault.
The Graphics and the Technical Aspects of the Game
The graphics have been slightly improved when comparing the game to its predecessor. Although CS: CZ is still based on the original Source Engine, the devs have squeezed a maximum out of it. This is particularly evident if you purchase the latest version of the game on Steam. Despite being several years old, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero still looks quite impressive. Still, the animations and the graphics are not what attracts the players to this title. The secret sauce of the game is the expanded single-player mode, which was missing in the basic version of Counter-Strike and is also missing in the amazing CS: Global Offensive.
