Dead or Alive has always been known as the booby fighting game and that is true and there is no denying that. Also though, Dead or Alive is a fun fighting game series and Dead or Alive 6 here is trying to be a game that longtime fans of the series can continue to love, but also newcomers as well.

The Game Review
Dead or Alive 6 is continuing on from the last game. Kasumi has decided that her ninja days are done and she is retired. This though is all thrown into question when there is a new threat to the world. In all honesty, the story here is not as strong as something like Mortal Kombat, but if you have enjoyed the lore up to this point this new twist is sure to reinvigorate your excitement.
The first thing we have to mention is the presentation. Dead or Alive 6 is pure eye candy and one of the smoothest and cleanest looking games I have seen this year. There are a ton of characters to choose from, my personal favorite being Mai who is from the King of Fighters series. Each of the characters looks like a million bucks!
Slow motion is in the game and I know what you are thinking this is just to show off those boob physics and I would be lying if I said I disagreed. However, this is a really cool effect. So is the damage that the fighters take in battle, this was in the last game, but it is improved upon here. Also, they allow for some character customization as well which while not something I am into is sure to be a feature others love.
I would say if you have played a Dead or Alive game before you will be able to jump right into this and start kicking butt. Any good fighting game series offers this from Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Tekken so I am certainly not knocking Dead or Alive for that. If you like the way the previous games have played you will feel right at home here and I consider that a good thing.
The action is fast and furious and in general, I have always enjoyed how quick-paced the Dead or Alive series is. One thing that I think is pretty cool is that they have made the game much easier for people new to the series to jump into. They have done this with a new combo system.
By pressing the same button a few times a basic combo will be unleashed. This can then lead to a Fatal Rush attack. For people who want a quick pick up and play style of fighting game, I think this is good. At the same time, this kind of players if they were to jump online would probably be picked off pretty easily by someone who knew what they were doing so I do not see them as having an advantage.
Dead or Alive 6 is also introducing the Break Gauge. This is basically like the super meter from Street Fighter and it is a first for the series. When you attack the meter will fill up and then allow you to unleash a Break Blow or a Break Hold. These are pretty cool and they look great too,
The stages are not just there to look good either. There are certain sections in stages which have been designed to give fights a bit of an unpredicted edge. These are called Danger Zones and from hazards to force fields these can sometimes change the way the fight is going.
I think that Dead or Alive 6 is a solid entry to the series. It is very unfair for the game to be judged on its boobs physics, but then at the same time that is what got the game noticed in the first place. If you want a fun fighting game that also looks amazing I am sure you will have a good time with Dead or Alive 6.
