Freddy in Space 2 is a fun spin-off from the Five Nights At Freddy’s Franchise. This was brought to us by the creator of the series and it was done to help raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Interestingly, the first game was actually a mini-game in another FNAF spin-off, Five Nights At Freddy’s World.
How to Download Freddy in Space 2
You can download the game from Game Jolt. Click on the Download button at the end of this review. Check out also our review of FNaF World which has a mini-game called FNaF 57: Freddy in Space which Freddy in Space 2 is the sequel to.
The Program Review
This is not a horror game, instead, it takes your favorite Five Nights At Freddy’s characters and puts them into a side-scrolling shooter/Metroidvania style of game. The plot has Freddy trying to rescue his friends and his son from L.O.L.Z.H.A.X which is pretty damn hilarious.
The art style here is awesome as it is parodying many different sci-fi and gaming classics. Freddy for has a real look of Buzz Lightyear about him and Chica is clearly modeled on Zero Suit Samus for example. Each character has to be rescued so that they can join you and each level has its own theme and bosses for you to fight in order to get them back so you can make use of their special ability.
I just love the way that this game looks in pretty much every regard. The way that what we know and love about FNAF has been taken and given this new twist is a lot of fun. The game moves at a pretty brisk pace and the whole thing has the look and feel of something that could have been on the original PlayStation or Sega Saturn.
Gameplay-wise, this is a nice mixture of platforming, shooting, and exploration. You are probably only looking at around 2 hours to beat the game, but it is fun while it lasts. Freddy in Space 2 has multiple characters to play as, weapons to obtain, and boss battles that are a ton of fun. I think the length of the game is fine actually as it does not overstay its welcome.
While the game was originally created with making money for charity in mind. Freddy in Space 2 is now completely free to play on Game Jolt. While you will probably get more of a kick out of it if you are familiar with the FNAF series, the game is actually a solid little shooter in its own right that is ideal if you are looking for something quick and fun to play.
Speaking of quick, it is worth mentioning that if you beat the game in 30 minutes, you get to see a special ending. This is a good way to keep you playing, trying to shave seconds off your level completion times. Like any good shooter, practice makes perfect and while the game is not difficult, getting your times down can be challenging. This is probably one of the more fun and well-made of all the FNAF spin-offs!
