Z1 Battle Royale (formerly H1Z1: King of the Kill, then H1Z1) is a downloadable game that uniquely combines different genres of MMO, shooter, sandbox and survival games. The title has evolved from the original H1Z1 game in which just one of the game modes – battle royale. Daybreak Game Company, the studio responsible for the production of the game, is also known for online games such as Pox Nora, DC Universe Online and The Lords Of The Rings Online: Mordor. The game had its premiere on February 18, 2016, and is currently in early access. We can enjoy the production on Windows PCs as well as on Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One consoles.

The Story and the Mechanics of the Game
The original H1Z1 tells the story about the spread of a virus (named H1Z1), which turns people into mindless zombies. The plot takes place several years after the outbreak of the epidemic in one of the American towns. Those who survived the disease are forced to fight not only with monsters but also with each other, with a limited amount of resources and food at their disposal. The player’s goal is to eliminate all the opponents on the map.
The mechanics of the game are based on the rivalry between players. The exploration and search of resources are important but the main focus is on hunting down the opponents, getting better arms and hiding. Our only goal is to remain the only living person on the map. In the first phase of the game, the players are dropped on parachutes from the plane. When they land, they must proceed to the nearby buildings in search of weapons. Another difficulty is the constant narrowing of the game zone, which is done to increase the gameplay speed. The player who will remain in the poisonous zone will surely die. In the game, as in other battle royale productions, such as PLAYERUNKNOWN”S BATTLEGROUNDS, there is a system of airdrops. Special packages with elite items are dropped. Each player sees where a given pack falls and this inevitably leads to spectacular duels for resources. Z1 Battle Royale is played best in a company of friends who create a team, but there is nothing to prevent a single player from becoming a winner.
Z1 Battle Royale – the Technical Aspects
Technically, the game was based on the engine called ForgeLight. This is not its debut, as the engine has already been used in the previous Daybreak Game Company productions. Thanks to ForgeLight, the physical effects and the textures make a really good impression, the game is also quite well optimized. Z1 Battle Royale features unique skins system that allows personalizing your character and weapons.
The origin of this type of games (battle royale) was a modification to ARMA. However, these two games are hard to compare. H1Z1: King of the Kill has evolved into something completely new, offering a different gameplay style and a unique interesting world.
