Hitman 3

Hitman 3 is easily the first big title to be released in 2021. This game concludes the Hitman trilogy that IO Interactive started back in 2016. One of the cool things about this game is that it is available for pretty much everything, so no one has to miss out on this truly incredible experience.

The Game Review

Once again, we take on the role of Agent 47. This game is a direct continuation of Hitman 2. Agent 47 and his crew step up their game as they try and take down the organization known as Providence. I thought that the story was fantastic and it was a great way to bring it to a close. It felt like there were much higher stakes this time around and that was something that made things even more exciting.

There are no new game mechanics on hand in Hitman 3. The idea here is that you use all of the skills that you have learned in the last two games along with some new weapons of course. Then you need to take down your targets in each level and get the heck out of there before you are seen.

Io Interactive has really perfected the formula by this point. Each level feels like a massive sandbox and you will have to play them over and over again to truly learn them. This is so much fun as coming up with convoluted and amusing ways to take down your targets is very satisfying.

Hitman 3 has the best level design of the trilogy. The game will send you to many different locations and the variety is fantastic. One of the best levels of any game in the Hitman series is in this game. You are in the UK and you are part of this murder mystery party where you are actually killing people all the while trying to stay under the radar, it is great stuff indeed.

There is also a level on a train that is much more fast-paced and due to the tighter areas, you are operating in, forces you to be a bit more upfront with your tactics. Hitman 3 also allows you to bring in the missions from the first two games if you have them which is pretty cool.

If you are playing the PlayStation 4 version of the game, you also have access to the VR mode which is awesome. Sniper Assassin returns, but for some bizarre reason, it is single-player only. This was an entertaining fun co-op mode in the last game so hopefully, it will be updated here. Actually, there are no multiplayer modes in Hitman 3 at all, but that will probably change with future updates.

So far it has to be said that Hitman 3 is the first shining star of 2021. IO Interactive has nailed it once again and this is a great way to bring this trilogy to a close. It plays great, it is a ton of fun and if you have the first two games, being able to replay those missions with the new weapons is awesome.
