The Game Review
We can use the mouse to guide our character wherever we want and we can interact with people and objects. Once each interaction begins, we are given a number of choices from which we must choose one. Like all other role-playing games, the choices we make in these games define our character and the rest of the game progresses accordingly. Any wrong choice could lead to some serious consequences.
The game starts with a menu screen where we can begin the game. Once the credits appear and leave, we are shown a huge castle standing tall beside the ocean, the camera pans away to a smaller town near the castle and then towards our hero. We find out that Shawn is trying to break inside a house to steal an item that will give him a good reputation amongst the thieves of the area. The objective is to find a specific coin that is wanted by the chief thief.
Once we escape the premises, we are faced with a mysterious bearded man who tells us that the police are looking for us and that we have a choice to either come with the man and enroll as a student in Hero University or spend the rest of our lives on the run.
Once we are there at the university, the headmaster (Terk) is waiting for us and seems rather offended that we disturbed his breakfast. We go through a series of questions designed as an aptitude test. After completion, we are shown towards our classroom in a rather rude fashion. After being told that we are not capable enough for any of the classes, we are sent to the rogue class where we meet Master von Urwald and the few other students in the class. We are told that the rogues must follow certain rules that are only ascribed to them. The rogues have their classes in the dungeons and are kept away from the other students of the university.
We can work some skills like tight rope walking and dagger throwing. Once night arrives, we can complete quests and other puzzles. As the game progresses, we encounter new people and situations which only we can find our way through with the choices we make. Even combat situations are avoidable if we know what choices to make.
Hero-U Rogue to Redemption is an interesting game where our choices lead to the circumstances that are created in the game. With witty dialogue and interesting characters, the game provides the player with an immersive experience.
