The Story
Conan Exiles takes place in the fantastic universe of Conan the Barbarian, the character from Robert E. Howard’s books. The player assumes the role of an outcast, who has been condemned to prowl in dangerous, wild and secluded places. The plot is important only to the point where it gives way to very elaborate gameplay. In spite of this, you have the opportunity to learn a lot about the interesting history of the world, which is hidden in the ancient ruins. Former civilizations left numerous inscriptions and books, describing what had happened before.
The Mechanics of Conan Exiles
The action in the game is presented from the hero’s perspective (FPP) or from TPP view. The player has the ability to pass through an open, very diverse world. You will see savannas, ancient mysterious ruins, deserts, beautiful and picturesque valleys and deep canyons with steep edges. The main focus is on survival. You start the game with practically nothing. However, after a short time, you are able to create the first, not very complicated tools and weapons. Then you begin to use an extensive crafting system that makes it possible to create the needed objects and increasingly dangerous weapons, as well as build buildings that later become fortresses and large cities. In the course of the game, during your conquests, you can also acquire loyal subjects: slaves, mercenaries, craftsmen, and others.
The world of Conan Exiles is not a safe place. The dangers the player will have to face include the changing atmospheric conditions including numerous sandstorms, aggressive fauna and, of course, the enemies – among them bandits and fugitives. The latter can be captured alive. The player then can sacrifice their hearts on the altars of the gods. Then the deities will be willing to give the player a unique ability, which can often decide the outcome of a fight. In Conan Exiles, you also have to pay attention to the wellbeing of your character – and you will need to take care not only of his physical but also his mental conditions. This is necessary because while exploring the ruins occupied by dark forces, the hero may fall into madness.
The game supports both the single-player mode and the multiplayer mode.
