What we have here with Star Stable is an MMORPG that is aimed at a much younger audience. This game is designed for little gamers who love horses and it is more aimed at girls than it is boys. Hey, boys are more than welcome to join in here, but there are no male characters here at all.

The Program Review
Before we get to the actual game, we need to discuss the pricing model that Star Stable has. You can jump in and play the game for free, but you can only play up to level 5. Once you reach level 5, the game stops or you can pay to become what the game calls a Star Rider.
Currently, there are two ways to become a Star Rider. You can purchase the Pay Once Star Rider Bundle which costs 89.99 Euros, you can also pay for just three months which will cost you 15.99 Euros. The game also has its own currency in the form of Star Coins and again, you can purchase these if you like and these are in bundles ranging from 14 Euros all the way to 80 Euros!
When you start your Star Stable adventure, you first need to create a character. As I said, you can only create a female character but you do have a lot of choices. Once you are happy with the character you have created, you then get to pick a horse and it is off to the Moorland Stables on the island of Jorvik.
In addition to the Star Coins which you will be using to buy new clothes, horses, and other fun items. Star Stable has another form of currency in Jorvik Shillings and you earn these by completing daily quests, taking part in races, and so on. They do give you quite a lot of fun activities to earn currency in the game so that is pretty cool.
There are many different quests that you can go on in the game and there is a fun little story to play through. Jorvik has some pretty interesting characters that you can interact with, but the real intention here is to play with others and make friends. There are a few ways that you can do this in order to keep it as safe as possible for younger gamers.
You can make it so that you can just chat with everyone that you come across in the game. However, you can also make it so that the only people you can chat with are those who are your friends. Of course, like any MMORPG, there will be some less than friendly people on here, but for the most part, this seems like a nice community so I am sure your kids will be ok playing here.
Taking care of your horse is what will keep many people coming back here. You can check in daily to make sure that your horse is fed, groomed, and can take part in various challenges. They do a great job in making new challenges each day and week to keep giving players things to do in the game.
The presentation of the game is ok, it is not bad, but at the same time, it is not exactly going to blow you away. It is nice and bright, but the whole game does have a kind of simple, late PS2 era kind of thing going on with the visuals. The controls were fine and anyone who has played any kind of PC game before will have no trouble getting to grips with it.
As far as MMORPG’s that are aimed at kids go, Star Stable is doing a solid job. The game is aimed at girls and girls who are interested in horses, but there is a lot to keep a kid busy and having fun here. As you can play up to level 5 for free, I would recommend you start them with that before spending any money so they can see if they like the game first.
