MMO Games

MMO games, or Massive Multiplayer Online Games let many players play together online at the same time. We can distinguish several subgenres, for example:

MMORPGs (for example World of Warcraft),
war MMOs (World of Tanks)
or strategic MMOs (Travian).

Different Ways of Play
MMO games can be either played in a browser or can be downloaded as a client which then is installed on the hard drive of the computer or of the console.

Currently, most of the titles are offered for free in the sol called free-to-play model where the player has to play for additional features and abilities. These can be obtained with virtual currency which has to be bought with real money.

Before a subscription model was more popular – the player paid a monthly fee in exchange for access to the complete game experience. The current freemium model guarantees a larger body of the players and thus bigger popularity and at the end of the day also better monetization.
The Best MMO Games
MadDownload.com offers the list of the best free and paid MMO titles from 2017, 2016 and the previous years. You will download here such titles as World of Warplanes, World of Warships, Dofus, War Thunder, or Cloud Pirates.
The Future of MMO
Many wonder what the future generations of MMO games will be like, Certainly we will witness more and more titles that use virtual reality technology. VRChat is a notable example of how things will be going in this direction.

Of course with the graphics cards capabilities being better and processor power increasing we can expect also better graphics.

Last, but not least, a lot of the MMO worlds have been transferred to mobile devices.
