Rocket League

Rocket League (the sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars) is a downloadable game created by Psyonix studio. From the gameplay perspective, it is a crazy and twisted version of football. The title was released on July 7, 2015, and you can enjoy it on Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs running Windows.

The game is downloadable via Steam. The download may be free if you return the game within two weeks and do not play it for more than two hours. However, we do not encourage this – Rocket League is simply great.

Rocket League – the Rules of the Game

This is a sports game, and more precisely, a futuristic sports game. You are a player taking part in bizarre football matches. But instead of human footballers,  it’s the cars that kick the balls. The human players have given way to fantastic modern racing cars who compete on extraordinary arenas. Instead of 11 players against 11 players, we have two teams with only 1 to 4 players. The remaining rules of football (soccer) remain almost unchanged, which means we have two goals and a ball. Our task is to score against the opposing team and not lose goals in the process (or lose less than them). The matches are played not only on grass but also in the air thanks to the special system of acrobatics. This makes the game more spectacular.

The mechanics of the game do not resemble classic sports. Our vehicles are equipped with supercharged jet engines that allow us to achieve high speed or hit the ball with more force. High speed is great when we want to surprise our opponent by rapid movement. More force means more powerful shots at the goal. When we hit the opponent hard, he is paralyzed for a moment, and it leaves him out of the game for valuable seconds. There are many arenas and cars available. They might look different but they have the same abilities.

Rocket League – the Available Modes

Rocket League offers an optional single player campaign where the players can play in leagues and try to win a cup. But the single-player experience, just like in FIFA games, is not what Rocket League all about. It is the multiplayer mode in which Rocket League shines. By gaining experience and levels, you will unlock more improvements to your vehicle. They do not change the specifications, but they allow you to be distinguished from other players on the server. The game has a ranking system that allows players to play league matches. In addition to the classic arena there are also alternative modes available for the players – for example, there is a mode that allows you to manipulate the physics, which can lead to zero gravity games.

Compared to its predecessor, the game is a big step forward. The graphics are Improved and optimized. The implemented physics engine has also met with good reviews. The neon colors displayed in Rocket League match wonderfully the fast pace of the game. An intuitive replay system has also been added that allows you to re-watch the best action and save it to disk.
