Dota 2

Dota 2 is a MOBA (a subgenre of real-time strategies) game that was created and published by Valve Corporation. The game runs on the Source 2 engine. Dota 2 can be downloaded for free and is available in the free-to-play model on the Steam platform. Just like the other players we choose the character we want to play as, and the choice is big, and then rush to destroy the enemy base.  The title requires teamwork.

How to Download Dota 2 and How to Install It?

The game is available as a  free download from the Steam platform. It is based on a free-to-play model, which means that you can purchase additional options, but it’s not mandatory. To download Dota 2, click the Download button below, at the end of the text.

What Does Dota Stand for?

Dota, or Defense of the Ancients, was originally conceived as a modification to Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and later to Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. The modification met with a warm reception from the players and was a great success. The sequel was announced on October 13, 2010, by Game Informer. The game was in beta testing for two years and was officially released on July 9, 2013.

How to Play?

The conflict takes place on a map where two five-person teams control their characters. Each player chooses his hero he or she likes best and together with the allies tries to destroy the enemy. Your character gains experience, which makes him stronger and unlocks access to more powerful skills. The gold that you gain from killing creatures and hostile heroes, can be spent on better equipment. Depending on what you buy, your character may be completely different. Properly matching items to the opponent is a skill that gives the masters of Dota 2 the biggest advantage over the beginners.

The Characters

The most important are the heroes available – there are a lot of them, everyone has different skills and a style of play that goes with them. The key to the success in the game is to choose such a set of heroes who together will form the strongest team. Five identical characters that are strong on their own will lose against a team composed of five weaker characters whose skills generate a synergy. From the beginning we have access to all the characters in the game, we do not have to unlock them. Proficiency in Dota 2 means:

  • Excellent knowledge of the capabilities of each hero,
  • an intuitive feel when to use each skill,
  • knowledge of what items are worth the money,
  • knowledge how to counter your opponent,
  • and the ability to quickly decide how to best assist your team in a 5 vs 5 fight.

Why is Dota 2 a Great Game?

The ranking in the game makes us fight against opponents on a similar level to ours. The game has a built-in voice communicator that makes it easy to talk to the allies,  and this is essential. We can get free sets of items, packages, treasures and items of Arkana quality. This giveaway is randomly generated based on the time spent in Dota 2 matches. Such gear makes your character stand out from the others. In addition, you can buy the same items in the store for real money.
