A good wholesome time is how I would say 80 for Brady is best described. I am not an American Football fan, but I loved the cast here and thought that the premise was interesting. I have always liked sports movies, and what we have here is a charming and adorable sports comedy that is certainly going to tug on your heartstrings and also make you laugh.

The Movie Review
I was shocked to hear that 80 for Brady was based on a true story, granted I am not 100 percent sure how much of this is “true” however, I thought it was fun. The main cast consists of Lily Tomlin as Lou, Jane Fonda as Trish, Rita Moreno as Maura, and Sally Field as Betty. While I am not an NFL fan, I thought it was cool how they got Tom Brady to play himself here.
These four old in age, but young in spirit ladies are all huge fans of The New England Patriots and especially the star quarterback, Tom Brady. They became fans of the team over a decade ago when Lou kicked cancers butt and ever since they have dreamed of going to see the Super Bowl.
Well, it just so happens that the New England Patriots are going to be in the next Super Bowl! The tickets are way too expensive for the ladies to afford, but there is a competition to win a set of tickets and Lou says that she has won and they are all going to the Super Bowl! It is so much fun to see how excited they are as they make the journey to Houston for the Super Bowl.
They get to take part in the NFL experience, end up getting high, getting into trouble, and even meeting Tom Brady himself! The movie is just a very fun time and the four lead ladies are all fantastic in their roles. While on face value what we have here is a movie about four football fans trying to go to the biggest game in the world.
80 for Brady is far more than just a comedy sports movie. What we have here is a really heartfelt movie about friendship and being there for each other. It is such a great message for a movie like this to have and while some parts were sad, for the most part, I had a big goofy smile on my face the whole time I was watching this.
Trust me when I tell you that you do not need to know anything about American Football to enjoy this. My wife did not even know what the whole “80 for Brady” thing meant, but liked the cast and wanted to watch it based on that. She ended up loving the movie and even convinced a few of her friends to check it out.
Even though as I write this we are still in February of 2023, I am having a hard time thinking of another movie scheduled to be released in 2023 that will be as wholesome as this. I had a wonderful time with this movie and it is 100 percent going to be a movie that I pick up on Blu-Ray when it is released.
