Ambulance is the latest thrill ride from Michael Bay and I was on the edge of my seat in the theatre while watching this one. I know it is amusing to poke fun at all the “Michael Bay tropes” that are in his movie, but that is exactly what makes his movies so entertaining. I know it may sound crazy, but Ambulance may be the most “Michael Bay” of all his movies and I mean that in a very positive way.

The Movie Review
To start with we have a fantastic main cast in this movie. It is headlined by Jake Gyllenhaal who plays Danny Sharpe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Will Sharpe, and Eiza González as Cam Thompson. I am a huge Jake Gyllenhaal fan and his performance here is very interesting.
The whole movie is 100 percent a Michael Bay movie as you get all his greatest hits, but Jake Gyllenhaal is also giving you all of his greatest hits in his performance here. It makes for a very fun watch and you can clearly tell that Gyllenhaal was having a fantastic time making this movie. The plot of Ambulance is about two brothers in Danny and Will Sharpe.
They are robbers and Danny has this great plan for one final score that will set them up for the rest of their lives. Will is not too keen on this as he feels he has a lot to lose, but he goes along with it. Of course, as this is their “last job” things go wrong and the two have to fight their way out of their “perfectly planned” heist.
They decided that hijacking an ambulance is the best way out of the mess they are in, but that just leads to more trouble. On the ambulance, we have Captain Cam Thompson and she is awesome. Cam is a real pro at her job and she is working very hard to keep Officer Zach alive who was accidentally shot during the boy’s heist.
In typical Michael Bay fashion, we then have the ambulance being chased around the streets with lots of awesome chase scenes, explosions, monologues, and a few twists and turns as well. It is thrilling stuff and just so much fun, it is a proper popcorn movie that will keep you entertained from start to end.
I know that there are many other great movies out at the same time as Ambulance, but I do think it is worth making the effort to go and see it on the big screen. I had an absolute blast with this one and it truly does have everything that I love about Michael Bay movies in it.
