Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle

Demon Slayer is one of the few things that my son will still watch with me, and we were both very excited for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle. The Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training were great, but they were episodes stuck together to make a movie. Infinity Castle is an actual movie and not just some episodes stitched together. While I liked the previous two cinematic releases from the franchise, you can clearly tell that Infinity Castle was always intended to be a movie.

Where to Watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle was released on July 18, 2025 in Japan and on September 12, 2025 in the United States. You can expect to be able to stream the film from Crunchyroll some time later.

The Movie Review

This is a continuation after the events of Season 4. Now, you may think that this means Infinity Castle is only for hardcore Demon Slayer fans. Granted, if you are familiar with these characters, you will get far, far more out of this. However, I do feel they do as good a job as possible of getting people at least a little up to speed. If you are not a fan, but were dragged to see this by someone who is, I honestly do not think that you would have a bad time watching this.

Plot and Characters in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

The plot is probably the best of any of the Demon Slayer movies so far. Muzan Kibutsiji has run back to his Infinity Castle and has managed to trap the Demon Slayer heroes there in the process. They have been separated and now must fight hordes of demons if they hope to escape this what seems like a dire situation they find themselves in.

Now, I get that this may sound like a very typical Demon Slayer style plot, but what I think makes this work so well is that our main characters all get time to shine, and even some, who I guess are not classed a full main characters, do as well. The stuff with Akaza was fantastic, honestly. Akaza was a character that I thought was ok before this movie, but they really fleshed them out, and it was a massive highlight of the movie for me.

Visuals, Action, and Animation Quality

I think that with some anime movies, they can sometimes be all flash and no substance, but that is not the case here at all. Without hesitation, I can say that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle is the best-looking animated movie that I have seen this year! The action scenes, the demons, the way the Infinity Castle looks. Everything about the way this movie looks is incredibly well done.

Runtime, Pacing, and Final Thoughts

The movie does clock in at around two and a half hours, and I have heard some people say it has pacing issues. However, I think if you are already a fan of Demon Slayer, the run time will not be an issue. I felt that the movie was paced really well, and nothing ever seemed to drag, and best of all, I think that they nailed the ending here. It has a good ending for the actual movie, but it also makes me wonder what the heck is coming next.

Box Office Success and Cultural Impact

While I enjoyed the movie, I think that this is a huge step for anime movies. The reason I say this is that the last Demon Slayer movie was on at my theatre, twice a day. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, though, has multiple showings, and it feels like my theatre is treating it as an actual movie and not some kind of special limited attraction. Plus, this movie has done amazingly well at the box office, bringing in over 600 million dollars! Look, I knew that I was going to enjoy this, but I liked it even more than I thought I would.
